2004 all-star game
Does anyone have a copy of the 2004 All-Star Game on tape that they would be willing to share? I'd reimburse you for your time/equipment/etc of course.
If I shouldn't be posting this here, or if anyone has a better suggestion of where to post inquiries like this, let me know!
P.S. I'm flying 1800 miles to CA this weekend for my first visit to the Coliseum, and the butterflies have already started.

I *might* have it.
You can also download it from MLB for $3.95 at MLB.com:

On a related note...
I'm certainly going to have to use some pretty hefty compression to make it work. I roughly and probably ignorantlyestimate that a single DVD side holds about 4 hours of video, which translates to, oh, I don't know about 162 DVDs for the season, give or take a few for commercials being cut out and some games simply not being televised.
No, the hard part will lie in making sure the MythTV computer doesn't screw up and miss a game, that my cable service goes on uninterrupted (eat it, Comcast!), and that I don't accidentally let the hard drive fill up.
Anyway, wish me luck starting in March.
Re: game DVDs
I bought a DVD recorder for the Cardinals' postseason lastyear (I live in Missouri btw), and have been recording most of the games this year. But I don't have TiVO or anything, so when I'm at the games (which is about the only time I leave the house), I usually don't get a recording.
I use the oldfashioned TV & DVD approach, so I end up using a DVD a game. It's always a guessing game, 'cos I can record at anywhere from 1-6 hours per dvd, but the quality goes down noticabely after three hours. So if I can sit there and take out all the commercials, the game doesn't go into extras, and I stay up for the postgame interviews... I can usually keep one game on one 3hour dvd.
PS - call me naive, or spoiled, but... every A's game isn't televised? About what percentage do you get to see on TV? I actually have a vested interest in this, considering I'm thinking of moving to Oakland by next baseball season.

Anyway, if you don't find it anywhere else, let me know. I just might decide to go look for it.

Re: 2004 all-star game
If you get the chance to look for it? Muchly appreciated.
I know how that is, I've got tapes and DVDs of baseball games in boxes everywhere. Some recordings which are not labelled, even though I swore a dozen times I'd never do that again.

Chavy snares
Other than that it's the entire game, plus bonus ESPN coverage, including Bill King's call of Ramon's bunt. Email me some address to mail it to, I'll copy it and drop it in the mail sometime this weekend.
I sent an email to your complaints email...
