Link Dump 9/11: Enemy Report

I'll let the A's say all the right things about "taking it one day at a time," "not scoreboard watching," "focusing on the field," "she told me she was 19," and "I don't recall."  In today's link dump we'll spend time focusing on our opponents.

ENEMY REPORT: MINNESOTA TWINS
Liriano is indeed listed as the Wednesday starter, according to the Contra Costa Times.  Luckily, we have Dan Haren opposing the phenom.  Let's hope the A's can take two out of three in the dome.

ENEMY REPORT: ANAHEIM ANGELS
Our rivals down South are starting to feel the heat.  Says K-Rod:

"You can't control the things out of your hands," he said. "We have to continue to win ballgames. It's down to 19games left and we have to go after them. I know we're running out of time, but it's something you can't control."

Even Mike Scioscia knows that the Angels are just running to stand still:

"If they (the A's) win, we have to win," Scioscia said. "If they lose, we have to win. It's pretty simple. We have to win ballgames."

ENEMY REPORT: CHICAGO WHITE SOX
Ozzie Guillen is already trash-talking in anticipation of the White Sox visiting Oakland.  Well, that's not totally true.  He's mostly very kind to Frank in his comments, but he does slip one barb in there:

"He's having a career year, but I'll take my chances against Frank. Frank is a great hitter. He's not a good ballplayer, but he's always been a great hitter."
Funny, Ozzie, I was about to say something similar about you, they guy who managed to play for 16 years with a .287 OBP: "You're a terrible ballplayer, but you've always been a great asshole." ENEMY ERSTWHILE A REPORT: MARK MULDER
Check out this interesting comparison of Mulder's 2004 mechanics versus Mulder's 2006 mechanics.  The animations take a little while to load, but for somebody who doesn't know anything about pitching mechanics -- like myself -- it's a really great learning experience.
