What's Up With Liriano?
Personally, I would be delighted if the A's took 1 out of 3. The Twins are the best team in baseball, are red hot, are getting Liriano back, are at home ...
The A's needed a come-from-behind to avoid being swept at home by the Rangers, and they looked awful in Tampa Bay. They never play well in the Dome, have no Kotsay to patrol center, Street is apparently hurt again ...
The teams have only played 3 games in Minnesota this year, and this series was during the Twins' awful April, during which they went 9-15. Nonetheless, the Twins swept the series - so 1 out 3 ain't so bad.
Let's go A's! Let's take one! And let's make it tonight, so tomorrow's game can be enjoyed. Because if they lose tonight, tomorrow's game becomes an incredibly tense affair ... because you don't want to think about losing the first two of a series in which Liriano is pitching the third game.

In a limited amount of games this year (10)
IF Liriano pitches (he probably will), he'll be on a strict pitch count & he's been quoted as saying he won't be using his slider as much (in an attempt to keep his arm healthy). He may shut us down/out, but unless we suddenly become the Mariners, he won't be pitching past the fifth.
