Around SBN: Dana White Announces Koscheck vs. Hendricks for UFC on FOX

FRANK FROM FIRST!?!?!

Can anyone describe what our MVP looked like on his run?  Did he slide?  How long did it take him to get up?  Did Mirabelli poop in his pants at the sight of the Big Hurt that he (and probably Frank too) was about to get?  And then he works the count and gets the possible insurance run, except that Kotsay gets nailed at the plate.  Man, I haven't felt like the A's have had a hitter like this since Giambi.  Dont' get me wrong, I LOVED Tejada, but Thomas seems to be able to get into others' heads when the pressure is on.  It always seemed like Miggy got out whenever people shouted "MVP".  Frank is just one dangerous dude with mystery rebar. Holy Toledo, I love this guy!

He didn't slide. He loped.
Youkilis missed the cut-off man and he cruised it.

But by 'cruised it', I mean he ran harder than he's ever run in his life, yet looked like Benji Molina jogging.

He dove into second,
got up and then slid feet first into third, continued on and crashed into Mirabelli, then realized he had missed third, went back (doing cartwheels to get back to third), dove into third, got up, and hopped home on his bad foot.

In their highlights, though, ESPN chose only to show Hinske's RBI single.

I like Cindi. A. She never pretends to know more than she does. B. She has unbridled enthusiasm for her "Hotties," and isn't afraid to show it. -IM4Oakgal

Jogged into 2nd
Turned on the burners though when he saw it didn't go out.  And Kotsay slid into the tag as he took an inside path to the plate.  Don't know why he didn't go wide and try and swipe the plate.  Thank God Duke didn't even come close to needed any insurance today.

Kotsay should have...
gone wide headfirst and swipe the plate, I thought. But oh well-- we won. Some guys are just better at sliding and others are better at making great catches and then wall-slamming.

All I remember
Was screaming at the TV: "FRANK!! PLEASE DON'T HURT YOURSELF!!!"

But other than that, he looked pretty good.

But it's good to know
that he can run well enough to score from first on a triple

What about Thomas ON first?!?
What'll we do if we get to the world series? Are we gonna sit Big Hurt at the NL park, or are we gonna throw that sucker onto the into the corner?

Have him stand
on the dugout stairs, brandishing the rebar menacingly.

He'll freak out the other team so much that he won't even need to play to have an impact.

"This must be heaven," he says.
"No. It's Oakland."

I love that thought
and it reminds me, any good pictures of him with the rebar in an A's jersey?

He was asked about his run
in the post-game interview.  He laughed, conceded that he thought it was gone when it was hit.  The interesting part was that he said he hopes to be running "full-speed" again (whatever that is) next year.
"The first night, we were right there," Bradley said. "All we needed was a couple of touchdowns, and we would have had them."

it was 3-2 count with 2 outs in the inning - he was running on the pitch.
