Around SBN: Cal RB Jahvid Best Seriously Injured, Carted Off Field

Labor Day Weekend Headache

I've got tickets to Friday night's game against the Orioles and was wondering the best transporation possibilities.

I normally drive to Oakland from the Sacramento Area and park the car in the BART lot at the Coliseum/Airport station.

Now I know that I don't have to travel to San Francisco, thus avoiding the EB closure this weekend, but will there still be some extra congestion on the freeways around the Bay Bridge in the always congested Emeryville intersection?

An option would be to drive to the El Cerrito Plaza BART Station or in Concord, but with Fireworks after the game, do they close the ramp after the fireworks show? I know they close it after the 8th inning and during the show.

What is the best way to get in and out of the area effectively? BART or Drive through

Still BART
You'll get your typical Friday nt traffic (into the City) at most, but the westbound direction isn't closed, so there shouldn't be too much to worry about.

Or...
You could take the "back way" by jumping off I-80 onto 680 South, take that through Concord to 24 West, then 980 to 880 South, and avoid the Bay Bridge maze completely.  That's my favorite way to do it and could save you some hassle, since the maze is so unpredictable.

Yep
A variation is to take 580 off of 24, get off at High Street, take that down to San Leandro Street, and turn left.  Then, once you're near the Coliseum BART station, turn left and park in the BART parking lot.
