Around SBN: Can Tebow Say No To Anything?

Don't look now, but we might have a .300 hitter

All season, glancing across the .220s-270s, with the occasional .280 hitter.  Funniest damn line-up, really.  Suddenly, or I guess gradually, in truth, JPay and Kendall, pushing .300.  It will be so strange, so assymetrical (unless we have Perez out there with the
.090).  Wow......

Hey, anyone else notice how Kotsay always seems to get one hit a game, but rarely more?  Can anyone run a stat sheet on how often he has had 0, 1, 2, and 3 hits a game?

Well, what do you know
If you look hard enough, you can see the distinguishable crease running right through the center, too.

I wouldn't place any bets on it
Meaning I have a gut feeling, but not a strong enough gut feeling that I'd place any money on it, that JayPay will finish the season with a .300+ average, but that Kendall will dip into the low .270's/high .260's even. He's due for a major slump.

Kendall will end up
above .300. He stayed hot around this time last year as well.

The cool thing about Kendall
hitting .300 is it would mean he would have to slug .300!

Kendall was
Kendall WAS a career .300 hitter when he got traded to the A's. Maybe he is finally figuring the American League out. I wouldn't be shocked if he finished near the .300.

will hitting .300
finally get you guys off his back?
Kendall happens to be one of my favorite A's players. If I can layoff my criticism of Chavez, I'm sure you guys can find the worth and importance that Kendall brings to every game.

I definitely recognize
his importance since the 2006 ASB, in contrast to his previous impotence.

You always amaze me with your choice of words...
I was merely trying to state that while he didn't always bring it with his bat, he definitely found other ways outside the boxscore to contribute; whether it was grooming our pitchers, calling great games, scuffling w/opponents or making those memorable highlight reel plays - he did make his presence felt.

Kendall
This thread prompted me to peruse Kendall's splits and I was stunned to see his home/road splits this year.  He has an OPS of nearly 800 away from the friendly confines, nearly in line with his career averages.  Is it possible that he's figured out the AL and the Net is just masking it? Being far away from Oakland and not having the time to research it, could there be something to this (amount of foul territory comes to mind) that particularly affects Kendall's hitting at home?

I don't know
but that does seem to make sense.  I think he does foul out a lot at home.
Proudly celebrating my 20th year as an A's fan.
