Playoff roster

Who would you want on the playoff roster, if the baseball gods were so kind as to allow the A's to make the playoffs? I hope to see some moves by Aug. 31 to account for the 4-man rotation in the playoffs.

Here's what I'd like to see:
Kendall, Melhuse
Swisher, DJ
Ellis, Scutaro, Crosby, Chavez, Perez
Payton, Kielty, Kotsay, Bradley
Thomas

Zito, Haren, Loaiza, Blanton
Street, Duke, Calero, Gaudin, Kennedy, Halsey, Harden

This basically trades out Saarloos for DJ, gives you two lefties in the pen, and assumes that Harden can play a significant role.

I really doubt they'll make the switch and put DJ on the roster. I think it would be stupid not to.

Forget the 8-31 deadline

As long as we hve anyone on DL we can make changes. Remember anyone on DL can be replaced with anyone so real decision time comes only when Street and Harden are off DL.

My understanding

is that the playoff roster will be made up of players on the 25 man roster or the DL on 8/31. Should one of those players be injured for the playoffs, then the whole 40 man roster is eligible.

Halsey, depending on the final month because Halsey isnt' a LOOGY and Saarloos can pitch well if one of the starters gets bombed early.

Is Perez fast? He never plays so I don't know. My point is that it would be nice if we had pinch wheels (Freddie Bynum where are you?).

Two-thirds of the earth is covered by water, the other third is covered by Kotsay.

Would Oakland use a 4 man rotation or try the increasingly popular 3 man playoff rotation?
