ANtics Episode 2.20: Post All-Star Goals

The All-Star Break typically marks the halfway point of the season, and for the first time since 1990, the A's are in first place at this mark. But don't get any ideas that all is well in Oaktown. The ANtics checked in with some of the players to see their own second half goals for 2006.

haha i love it...
my second half goal is to kick the baseball gods until we start winning games that we both pitch and hit well in... and boosting up our defense just a little wouldnt hurt either..
When Crosby was asked after the game if the collision was fun, the 26-year-old responded with a wide-eyed "Yeah!"

The Loaiza Comment rocked my world
Getting hammered on the mound too...God how true. It's sad that it's true, but it's funny

yea love the comment with swish
but it certainly will take a lot to make us forget about the "Other" 33. Half the reason I even paid attention to Swish when he first came up, was because he was playing RF wearing the "Holy"(in my book) 33. I remember playing little league in 88, and every kid on my team wanted to wear 25,33, or 43. I don't care how Jose's career ended, in my mind that dude was and still is the man. 40/40.... that's what A's baseball is all about. I need to get me a Canseco 33 jersey. If your in your mid 20's right now, those years 86-92 are and always will be "the good Ol days"....

Trust me, I agree
I'm pre-30, still, and grew up with Jose Canseco being my favorite player. Nobody else was close. I could tell you everything about that magical 1988 year, without cheating on Google.

It was an affront to Canseco to see guys like Damon Mashore and TJ Mathews wearing his number. Swish wears it well.

I hated the old #33
Swish has definitely made me forget that train wreck! It doesn't even cross my mind until someone mentions it.

But then there is the guy currently wearing the "Holy" #25! That is just wrong.

#25 was my number before I laid eyes on Big Mac. Which was actually the reason I was drawn to him in the first place. But yeah, it was a good chunk of the reason why I wanted that number in Little League. And I would always win, cause all the other kids wanted it cause of Big Mac and I would get it cause it was my Birthday!

I am in my mid-20's and even though I look back on those days very fondly, I have to say, I am enjoying these years much more.

Oh
I dunno, I still smile when I think about the time Big Mac smacked three taters in one game Boston. Those were the days . . . :O)
