Link Dump 6/3: Wakey, wakey!

It's my monthly Daily Link Dump, straight from Cup crazy North Carolina, where I can post this thing probably before many of you have woken up.  So WAKE UP already!

Star-divide

Yep. The A's lost to the Twins in a great pitchers' duel.  Sometimes you just throw up your arms and be glad you don't face a pitcher with the caliber of Johan Santana every single day.

Milton Bradley plays for Sacramento tonight in a one-game rehab. Yay! The A's confirmed Rich Harden will pitch Sunday for Oakland. Double yay!

The city of Fremont wants the A's, and they don't seem to be shy about it, either.

Women learned more about baseball earlier this week in a benefit for John Muir Healths Cardiac Care Services.  They got to hear from Ken Macha, Ron Washington, Bryn Alderson and Farhan Zaidi, and fun seemed to be had by all.  Also, if you like articles without those pesky apostrophes and quotation marks, that story is for you!

And for those you following the NCAA Tournament, here's a full recap -- all on one page! What a deal! (Roll Tide, by the way...)

It's official. Chico is a very nice town. Pat Sajak says so.

some early morning links for Harden
Roto Times (obviously not "official"):
http://www.rototimes.com/index.php?sport=bsball&type=profile&name=4806

June 2    Rich Harden, who is slated to return from the DL on Sunday against the Twins, will be on a pitch count of about 80 when he returns, according to the AP. He has been out since April 27 with a strained lower back.

I was looking for a more official announcement but couldn't find one. Odd -- but Macha did confirm it on the radio yesterday.

The Harden part...
...is also in that link about Bradley. It's a notebook.

here it is...
Harden confirmed: Macha made it official Friday: Rich Harden, on the DL with a strained back muscle since late April, will be activated and start the series finale on Sunday.

"He's ready," Macha said with a smile. "And so are we.

Yabba dabba doo, its morning
(been light since 3am) in SE Alaska....50 degrees and rain..sweet, summer.

Freaking blackout today for tv so with the weather and all, I may as well get some work in at the office and listen to the game.

and note, on my three minute commute to the office, one stop sign, one right turn and one left turn..and I am there.

the great playoff miss of 2004 followed by the good try of 2005...in 2006?...prove it.

That Sajak story had better stuff following:
HERE AND GONE: Before he ever got a chance to play for the San Diego Surf Dawgs, former Sacramento RiverCats and Oakland Athletics first baseman Graham Koonce had his contract purchased by the Milwaukee Brewers' Triple-A affiliate in Nashville, Tenn., on Tuesday. San Diego had acquired the 31-year-old Koonce on May 19.

Koonce!

According to the GBL Web site, Fullerton right-handed pitcher Nigel Thatch was acquired from the Schamburg Flyers for a pallet of beer, which is 60 cases. He was later placed on the league's suspended list for failure to report.

So... who gets the beer?
