OK-- Harden's hurt, and so is Chavez (he should be benched until he feels better. He's doing nothing offensively), but look at all the good signs.
10 out of 12.
Loaiza and Blanton all of a sudden performing well;
Street lights out;
Crosby, payton and DJ all heating up; Scoot and kendall with big hits tonight;
Bullpen getting healthier; Calero has found a rhythm.
I think we're about to jump way past "padre contention"-- and Beane won't be trading anyone (I'm not on board for a Payton trade-- and certainly not Zito-- despite those who assume we all think alike here. I like veteran depth in the outfield) except possibly a prospect for more bullpen help.
This is starting to look like the team we expected to see-- even with the Harden injury and all the others.
