Winexp 5: No Hits, No Runs & Big Errors

So nice to have Barry dealing again. He had a monster week, good for #2 in the MLB. This was partly helped by his pitching twice this week, but he gets most of the credit for our performance in his games, as practically every hitter besides Melly and Elly were neutral or negative contributors.

Despite everything, our pitchers and Huff kept us in the running and we squeaked out a 4-3 record this last week.

PUJOLS 5.0 continues to lead the league, though this week he was merely average instead of historically awesome.

Brief focus on Duaner Sanchez, who every week has been the highest ranked player I have never heard of. I haven't seen him on Sportscenter, nor in any shoe commercials. Who the heck is this guy that Baby W considers the most valuable player in the league (excluding Pujols, who is clearly a time-traveller taking advantage of genetic superiority and advanced technologies) ?

He's an unsung setup guy for Billy Wagner who has pitched a tidy 21 scoreless innings, apparently in some pretty high leverage situations. So, is he a fluke or what? Is this some crazy crush that Baby W has developed, in the vein of "Joe Kennedy can do no wrong" no matter how nightmarish and twisted his appearances are?

And now in honor of the crazy ending of Saturday's game (which JJJsixsix has nicely dissected), I present:

Surprisingly, the Huff error only made #3 on the list. Baby Winexp is not very good at figuring out fielding right now and these play by play listings show part of the issue. Which parts of the play are due to the error? The Huff error is very clear-cut in reality and in text, but many others involve errors in the middle of plays. Baby W just assigns the whole play to the error right now, which is definitely wrong sometimes. The only way around this is by having people who have seen the game adjust the ratings by hand.
