Bonds in Green Next Year?
Did anybody else see the comments from Chavez in the ESPN Insider regarding Bonds? Chavey said he would love to see Bonds in the Green and Gold as a DH next season. WTF? Are you kidding me? My personal feelings for Bonds aside, why would we want him in our lineup? Draws walks yes, anything else, no. Even as a DH he would probably play less that Thomas and I think the Big Hurt might be faster at this point. Plus, let us not over look the clubhouse chemistry this teams always has. Can you see Bonds joking around with Swish or giving him one of those handshakes after somebody hits a long one? How could Chavey be pushing for this? Is he just looking for some protection in the order behind him? Maybe I am blinded by my feelings, but walks or not, I do not want Bonds anywhere near our lineup.

And the one thing BB doesn't want to see
"No. It's Oakland."
Free agency is slightly different
"No. It's Oakland."

Chavy lost a ton of points with me for that shit
"credibility" = highfalutin' for grit?
I'm all about the syllables, baby

Add John Rocker
Not Only that....
Conversely....
So you didn't approve of picking up Ty Cobb,
Now Ron Gant, Eric Karros, Dave Stewart II, and Jose Canseco II I'll give you.

Well
Do you really think?
This isn't going to be a 500K with incentives type deal. If he can swing that bat, he is looking at 20-25/year just for the draw (in a big market of course).
LAA scares me here.
maybe yes, maybe no
But Bonds really is a shell of his former self, and I'm not sure whether he's really got anything left.
And Vlad is looking more fragile and more pitchable every month.
And those Angels hitting prospies ... not so much (so far).
If this wave of prospects doesn't improve massively the next 15 months, the Angels could be in very, very bad shape for the next 3-4 years.
Arte throwing away $20M-$50M on Bonds could sink them.
