just because you don't believe in it, doesn't mean that the rest of us don't. Baseball is a game of superstitions, for both the players and the fans. Fans are especially particular about certain "rules", such as what can or cannot be mentioned during the time it may be occuring...

Any info on what the record is for hits
. . . over 3 consecutive days??

by mattclif on Apr 9, 2006 2:21 PM PDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Or just three consecutive games.
It might involve the famous doubleheader in which Dizzy Dean pitched a one-hitter, and his brother Daffy followed it up with a no-hitter.

revised: hits allowed
over 3 consecutive days. .

by mattclif on Apr 9, 2006 2:23 PM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

It takes more than just great pitching to get
a no-hitter.  An awful lot of luck is needed.  Harden is pitching as well as anyone could ask.  Hits aren't important.  Wins are.

by spoiltvictorianchild on Apr 9, 2006 2:27 PM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

don't forget
that our pitchers feed off of each other very well....you don't think Zito went out yesterday thinking about Blanton's two-hitter the night before? And Harden probably warmed up today knowing about the two gems that preceeded him. They feed off each other. Now we have to get Loaiza in there too...
