My favorite one yet
Though the distaff side may demure, I love the line about Crosby going limp.  Perhaps a Market St protest appearance is next.

yeah...
...the amazons might not agree.  Also, I don't think the char will be very cheery hearing this.  And lastly, the virago might not verify the authenticity of such a claim of limptitude.

This was hilarious though louismg...even if it is Ellis. :) Great work though, keep it up!

Unfortunately
I am still unable to access the Oakland Athletics web site.  I was hoping someone could tell me who the A's are playing next and which starters (if it has been announced) will be going for my favorite baseball team in the whole wide world.  Thanks!

They're playing the Angels
Zito's starting tomorrow...and it looks like Halsey is starting on Tuesday.

I was guessing JayPay was going to start. :(

Thank you very much...
A sweep of the Angels would be absolutely delightful...Hopefully Zito's April woes are behind him and he will be back to his normal dominating self again.  GO A'S!!!

LOVE THIS ONE :)
BTW...MLB.com has Halsey listed as Tuesday's starter.

as much as i love the crosby part. i'm pretty sure
that's a pic of Ellis. i could be wrong but i think it's ellis.

by larrysgurl on Apr 30, 2006 9:30 PM PDT reply actions

what makes you think that??
I think those forearms have got to be Crosby forearms...but I too, could be wrong.

You "could be wrong"

Oakland Athletics shortstop Bobby Crosby hangs over Detroit Tigers' Brandon Inge (15) at second base after completing a double play in the third inning of a baseball game Tuesday, April 18, 2006, in Oakland, Calif. Tigers' Placido Polanco was out at first base.

Actually
It is Ellis. I was at the game and TiVo-ed it. I remember seeing the play and it was Ellis, then I saw that picture and the caption and double checked the tape. It was definately Ellis. But we get the point, and the pic is totally funny! A touch BrokeBack, but funny!

Boy, I really suck at this then!
Of the 10 so far this year, and 23 overall, it's been suggested I put in the wrong guy 4 times now. 2 times it's been proven.

Time to hang 'em up?

by louismg on Apr 30, 2006 10:44 PM PDT up reply actions

Well, we're pretty sure it's not Kendall... ;)
(And you do not suck at this!  Regardless of who's going limp, it's damn funny!)

No NO!
Keep them coming! They are so good, we can all forgive these little mistakes. Besides, they end up being so funny, most people don't really notice. (unless they are crazy and obsessed, like me!)

FIRE LARRY DAVIS NOW!!!
It's all his fault.

by Suck My Moneyballs on Apr 30, 2006 11:28 PM PDT reply actions

would it Larry Davis or...
the strength and condition coach that should feel the stinging wrath of the AN chirp?!?!

I've never seen a team over the last few years that has so many guys out with 'strained backs', 'pulled somethings', or 'thingy spasms'.  Not much can be done about twisted ankles, knees, or the like, but muscle problems seem like a s&c problem.

"I've never
seen a team over the last few years..."

It's a perception problem.  We follow the A's, so we notice their nagging injuries, but I would be willing to bet that we're middle of the pack.

Hooray for a great Chavy April
And a great Swisher April too.

Maybe all the misspellings
are the fans' way of saying "There's no 'A' in Loiza." Well, actually there's still one, but anyway...
