What has happend to Barry Zito. He looked as close to his 2002 Cy young form Last season as he has looked in years. Is it just a slow start or is he hurt this year. I know that throwing 100 miles per hour does not make you a great pitcher however, Barry consistantly had an 84 mile per hour fastball against the texas rangers last night and it did not seem to fool anyone. Zito always seems to do this in the begginging of the year so lets hope that is what is going on here. IF the A's are going to win this year ( in my opinion if they stay healthy this is the best team that I have seen since the days of the Bash brothers)Zito needs to be at the forefront.
On a more postive note Chavy finally looks like that dominant force that the A's have paid him to be. If he keeps going like this maybee we should start calling him little Pappy, because other than David Ortiz I dont think that there is a better power hitting lefty in the American League, Definatly not one with 5 straight gold gloves. When the A's pitching comes around which will be soon they will run away with the American league West.
