Around SBN: The Gift Of The 2003 Tigers

Great Moments in Internet Sports History

The Scene:  Shea Stadium, 1986.

The Game:  RBI Baseball re-enacting Game 6.

The Commentary:  Vin Scully.

In one of the best mashups I've every seen, this guy redid Game 6 of the 1986 World Series playing RBI Baseball for the Nintendo.  And then he layered Vin Scully's call over the video.  It's an absolute must see.

Watch the Met's comeback and win

If you look at the final score screen...
..One team has 26 K's, the other has 29. I'm thinking once the had the scores right they just K'ed through the other 8 innings.

just pure brilliance.

Must have been brutal for the person who made it though.

Actually, with emulators, it's not too tough

That video was awesome. I loved RBI Baseball.
I found that you could go into the stands in the corners of the outfield

Isn't it amazing......
how a play-by-play guy can make a poorly rendered video game compelling drama?  Hat's off to the creator of that gem.

RBI Baseball's graphics were primitive...
...but the audio's WAY ahead of its time! ;)

A's 20th consecutive win
Someone should do it for the A's 20th consecutive win... that would be awesome.

Another great one
Following in the low-tech trend, here is another re-enactment I ran across while trying to avoid working on my thesis.  It's a re-enactment of a Detroit/Minnesota game from last season.  Scroll down to "April 25, 2005" for the excitement!
