TV Schedule is out....

Here's the link to ther A's TV schedule for 2006.  It's about time that they put this up.
Now filling in more character space, filling, filling, filling...

It's cold here in Emeryville today...

Awe Crap! Look at all those No-TV Days!
FSN you son of a bitch! If you don't want to carry the A's, let us out of the damn contract and let us go to Comcast!

Relax Everyone! Geeeeze!
TV schedules are NOT (repeat NOT) final for late season games.

Games in September will be brought on to TV if they are crucial.  That's the way it always has been every year.

wtf
the last game on the season won't be on tv?

by gotgreen on Mar 2, 2006 11:00 AM PST reply actions

It will be ...
if it matters ...

they just don't want to committ to showing what will most likely be a meaningless game.

Question about non-televised games
Can I watch them on MLB Extra Innings on Comcast on the other team's broadcast?

by gdubb925 on Mar 2, 2006 11:13 AM PST reply actions

On EI
Yes, you can watch the game if the other team is covering it. Sometimes, both teams will have the game on "local" television. You're screwed unless you have MLB.tv for those games.

44 games on KICU,
including the season opener.  Unless KMAX feels sorry for me and picks that game up, I won't be able to watch it.  It will be blacked out on ESPN.  Wow.  I'm so screwed, but what else is new?

I'm curious to find out how many of those 44 games KMAX picks up.  We'll be LUCKY if it's even 10.  Not holding my breath.  :-/

Hmm
Considering the lame smattering of games FSN seems to have committed to, I guess I won't hold out for too many A's games in HD. Can't one of my state legislators get on this? Come on, Torlakson! Stir it up!

Really glad my
Satalite gets FSN+, that's a lot of games.

RANT TIME
THE RADIO COVERAGE STINKS, BUT THE TV COVERAGE IS DOWNRIGHT PATHETIC. I DON'T SEE HOW 40 GAMES ARE NOT ON THE AIR!!! AND AS SOMEONE ELSE HERE POINTED OUT, MANY ARE BACK TO BACKS!!! AND THESE IDIOTS MAKE "FSN+" SO THE BAY AREA GETS A'S AND GIANTS COVERAGE, YET FSN+ HAS ABOUT 6 GAMES IN THE FIRST MONTH, AND THEN NONE THE REST OF THE YEAR!!!!!

FSN should let the A's go to comcast...

Gets ahead of hitters early and then doesn't fuck around with the corners, just Shull-shocks them by burning right through their wheelhouse-Oz on Jimmy Shull.

A little more on FSN+
I heard a radio commercial on KNBR yesterday from Comcast in which Tolbert said that FSN+ is moving to channel 410. That means digital cable.

I called FSNBA to clarify this, and they said that at the end of either April or May, FSN+ is moving permanently to 410. For Comcast subscribers, this means FSN+ will no longer be available on one of the analog channels (usually 77). It doesn't affect the A's this season unless there are scheduling changes, but the A's deal with FSN runs through 2010, so if you want FSN and FSN+ and you have Comcast, you'll need digital cable for the next four years.

This doesn't affect non-Comcast cable or satellite subscribers.

Mid-week Day Games
20 of those are mid-week day games. I have no problem with not televising those.

I do have a problem with FSN+ moving to digital only on Comcast. They have plenty of available channels. Just doing it to encourage more people to move to digital I suppose. Grrrr.

Breakdown!
13 games on weekends or weekday nights aren't sheduled to be televised. Three of those are in April. Of the remaining 10 games, 6 are in late August/September. Assuming these 6 are broadcast, the following 4 non-weekday-day games won't be shown past April:

Saturday    3-Jun    vs Twins                     1:05 PM
Saturday    1-Jul       vs Diamondbacks      1:05 PM
Saturday    22-Jul    @ Tigers                    4:05 PM
Saturday    29-Jul    vs Blue Jays               1:05 PM

And three of those four
can't be televised by Action 36 or FSN because FOX has exclusive rights.

by Nico on Mar 3, 2006 5:52 PM PST up reply actions

No, I think they can be on FSN
because the Fox Blackout applies only to non-cable channels.

God I hate Fox.
