Giants interested in Zito

I could not find a link for this story but I did hear it from Dennis O' Donnel last nite on Channel 5 KPIX news. The SF Giants are now looking to get in the bidding for Barry Zito and manager Bruce Bochy went on record as saying so.

Something to the effect of, "Barry is a San Diego native and has a great track record and is very durable. He has great stuff and we would love to have a guy like that on our staff bur so would alot of other teams." Hmmmmmmmm...............ya think? Now, apparently, Zito's asking price has gone up into the 6 year 100 million dollar range and climbing.

Have fun spending all that scrilla Barry!

Great fit

That's the kind of ballpark he needs to thrive, and going to the NL would help him, too. Plus, he already lives in SF, anyway. He'd be a lot better use of their money than Barry Bonds.

we could really learn to hate him wearing the orange and black. Actually, this is something I was discussing with my buddy Eppie, who is a diehard Giants fan. About a month ago I was saying that the Giants should go after Zito because chances are he is going to end up in the National leauge anyway so why not have him be on your team? Then you would have a true one, two punch in your rotation and Zito is gonna give you 35 starts and possibly slightly better stats overall at least for the next 3-4 years. After that you would have to hope he does not decline too much given the salary he will be getting.

Zito as a Giant though? What a trip that would be..............A"s baby!

Zito

I thought Zito wanted to play in the LA or NY? He cares so much about his music and his acting. He thinks he is such a great musician. Zito you are no Jackson Brown!! Your a joke as a musician.
Let some other team waste their money on this overrated pitcher.
