Around SBN: Keith Hernandez Reacts To Gary Carter's Passing

Open Thread: Happy Holidays to All!

I just thought I'd write quickly and leave this thread open as my gift to you.  Granted if you were a mediocre 4+ ERA starting pitcher, I probably would've given you a $40 million contract instead, but since you aren't you get a tee shirt that says, "I visited AN on Christmas Day and all I got was this stupid open thread."

Happy Holidays to you and all of your loved ones!!!  Throw back an egg nog or two in honor of the green and gold.

XM radio program note
Tonight at midnight (Pacific time), as part of their classic games series, XM will be running Game 4 of the 1990 Red Sox vs. A's ALCS on XM 175.  I don't know for sure that this will be the Bill-Lon-Ray broadcast of that game, but XM has been running the local broadcasters' calls in the classic games series, and a tape apparently does exist because one of the "King Calls" used last season was the last out of this game.

Not surprisingly...
I woke up in the 4th inning, long after Clemens had been kicked out...but yes, this is Bill King and Lon Simmons calling the game along with Ray Fosse.

Merry Christmas!
Visa and Mastercard thank you from the bottom of their corporate hearts.  If they had one that is!

Why is Chrismas so merry. Was Chrismas a free agant too and Just sighn a fat 42 million four year contract too. Is that why Chrismas is so merry?

I need baseball back
My favorite football team has been coming back down to earth, and they finally crashed today. That was pitiful.

Merry Christmas all
Just got a an Finley era A's hat and an A's Western Division Champs shirt from my Angel fan brother-in-law.
Must have been painful purchasing that.

How many days until pitchers and catchers report again?

Merry Christmas Everyone!
Merry Christmas fellow AN'ers!

My dad surprised me with tix to 2 Spring Training games!  I actually shed tears!  This was going to be the first Spring Training I would have missed in 3 years b/c I decided to go to law school and wasn't going to be able to afford it.  It's going to be a shorter than usual trip (3 games this year as opposed to 6 last year before law school!), but at least I get to go!  However, my son, Huddy, is going to have to stay home with his Nana...  I've never been away from my son for more than 24 hours (only one time) let alone for 5 days... I'm excited and terrified all at the same time!

I get to go to spring training!!!!  Wooohooo!!! I love my daddy!  I love the A's!!!!

Merry Christmas everyone!

The Angels
just signed Shea Hillenbrand to a $6.5 million 1-year deal.  That is just throwing money down the drain for a total clubhouse cancer who isn't that good

It would make my Xmas
to see a full-out brawl between Shea and Scioscia.
