Around SBN: Dog Football! Which Breeds Are Best Suited For The Gridiron?

Hibernation

This is it folks. Mid December and cabin fever has set in for me here in Vermont. I am getting anxious nervous and depressed due to the short days and cold nights. Most depressing of all is the lack of Baseball, football just doesn't cut it. I need more games!!! I can't wait for April it's just too much.   To save me from REALLY losing it I just got an Xbox and Espn MLB 2k5. I am 14 games into the season and the A's have the best record in baseball at 13-1. Chavez is the best hitter in baseball with .508 batting avg. he also has the most homeruns in  baseball with 11. Juan Cruz pitched a full game and got 19 strike outs tying the record in one game! I know it doesn't mean anything, but god it is great to see the A's win even if it is fake and digital. 148 games to go till post season (man i can't wait for spring). Untill April I'm gonna keep my nose deep in the Xbox and on MLB.com watching archived games. Like game 3 against the twins in the first round of the playoffs this year!!! Anyway Happy Hannukah and Merry Christmas. Have a wonderful holiday and everyone THINK SPRING!!!!

Likewise.  And it hasn't even been that bad of a winter here in Buffalo...course, it's easy to say that when winter hasn't even actually begun yet.  Speaking of MLB video games, I wish EA Sports still had licensing rights for MLB...well, I guess it's a far trade-off for Madden.

follow-up
I almost went golfing today.  Almost.  50 degree temperature said yes; rain, wind, and Bills' game said no.  But my would-be golfing partner, my father, was by no means alone on the golf course...this isn't supposed to be happening a week before Christmas.  I'm starting to think that Al Gore is wrong and that global warming is a very, very convenient truth.  Except for the few days in October we had to deal with the entire county being rendered impassable by nearly 2 feet of unforeseen, really fucking heavy snow and Mt. Washington-esque winds.

Crack Baby,
I keep wanting to believe that your user name is just what you yell whenever an A's hitter makes really solid contact.

Just say no, kids.

hey...
he at least claims his anxiety, frayed nerves, and depression are due to the natural cause of change of season...I'll take his word for it.

I thought I had one of the better ones on the site, but you have outdone me.

It's 4:30 AM in the East here, what the fuck are we doing awake?  Heh.  I've been on a weird schedule for a week or so...

just so you know though...
90% of the time Nico is half-joking.  (Isn't that sort of similar to something Yogi Berra said?...help me out here...I know the percentages are the same, except my comment made sense, whereas his legendary one didn't).

one more thing before this thread becomes my diary
I wish Juan Cruz pitching a 19K CG for the A's wasn't just a fake and digital performance.  Towards the end of the 2005 season, I was calling for him to be used as the #5 starter, based on his performances in that role in Sacramento.  It never came to pass though, and his inability to fit in with the team at least netted us a decent long reliever in Halsey.  Seeing as there wasn't much to remember about him while he was with the A's, I'll always think of him as the guy who owned the Hyundai Santa Fe SUV in the Chicago Cubs' players parking lot when he was a Cub...I'm pretty confident that he's the only major leaguer driving that particular car.

I fight back ...
By taking my 9 year old to play catch (sometimes in a mostly wet field) in order to keep up his conditioning for liitle league tryouts this February. He and I also get our chance to play electronically via MLB The Show 06 for PS2.
So long Frank...we hardly got to know you.
