Interest in Sheffield??

FoxSports MLB has stated in the rumor section that two MLB exec's have the A's and Cubs as showing the most interest in Sheff. He has a big contract, and it would only be for one season, but what a huge addition it would be. Who would go? The Yank's are difinately looking for frontline pitching, so I would guess Blanton or Loiza?? I could see Loiza being traded as his contact is also large, and the Yanks get him for two more seasons. Interesting.

Although i'm wondering if he and Bradley would fude. Bradley's a pretty happy-go-lucky "wants to win" type of guy while Sheff seems (and im going only off what i perceive) as a dour/sour guy who may be the polar opposite of Milt. Hopefully if we resign the Hurt he can be the buffer or Sheff's favorite "middleman"

but i don't remember him ever feuding with players. i think he's just a generally self-interested, not-in-it-for-the-love businessman basebalplayer, not a TO-type homewrecker.

helluva hitter, though. i think big frank will keep him in line (as long as we keep big frank).

His evangelical Christian wife keeps him in line...she's very morally upright. Sheff actually tithes to 2 different churches. Whether or not you're religious, that does show a certain amount of character, even if you are making a salary where you wouldn't even notice if 10% of it was missing.
