I'm all for owners making money. After this is a business and not a chariety, but ONE SHOULDN'T OWN A SPORTS FRANCHISES AS A REVENUE SOURCE!!!! Men should own them out of a geninue love for the game. I get the feeling from this article that Lew is about making money first, and adding to the glory, pride, and tradition which is the Atheletics is a VERY DISTANCT SECOND. Here's the link, the article, and some questions I have.
- YOU MEAN TO TELL ME IN ALL OF OAKLAND THERE ISN'T A PLACE TO PUT A BALLPARK AND BASEBALL VILLAGE!!! BULLSH*T!!! What about the Army Base and Ninth to Broadway site? I'm sure some others, though not ideal sites would've worked. Since Lew and friends are putting up there own dough, you mean to tell me a there couldn't of been a reasonable offer made for site? Nonsense. Lew wanted out of Oakland from jump and I the article made that obvious
- People always mention the "Giants Territorial Rights," But like the article said, the Orioles had territorial rights to DC and there's a baseball team in The District." You mean to tell my that same deal done with the Orioles and Nationals as far as territorial rights could've of been worked out with the Giants and the A's?
