New Blog: Sounder At Heart for Seattle Sounders Fans!

Dear Bill King.

I can probably speak for most of us on AN by saying that WE MISS YOU.  No game on tv?  'Holy Toledo', Bill will tell us what's going on on the radio side.  The first season without you around got me watching more tv games and going to the ballpark for more home games.
Each one of us here on AN has a passion for the game, and for our Oakland A's.  My passion for the Oakland A's is still there, but without you, Bill, things will never be the same.  Life changes and we all move on, but without you there at the beginning of spring training to explain it all to me, to us, and give us comfort in the trying days that has the team moving from Oakland, well, I guess it's time we all grew up and figured it out on our own that change happens and it is often beyond our control.
I can tell you, Bill, we might not be doing a very good job of accepting change, I know I'm not, because we are wearing our passion and hearts for the Oakland Athletics on our sleeves, so we can certainly use some help in understanding that this is the way of baseball and life these days.  None of us can second guess what you would think, but we sure know that whatever your thoughts about the move in 3 to 5 years, the important thing is you would tell us to remember the game first and foremost.  You were there for me during the first week of the 1994 opening season when my dad passed away.  I thank you for that...and thanks for all the memories...missing you lots the past few days especially.

it's great that
Bill King was there for you when your dad died but how about a little peace for the man.  How about the anniversary of his death?  Too ordinary.

I can probably speak for the dead by saying SAP IS TO STAY ON TREES.

Things sure changed.

I think Bill's
hanging out  somewhere with Ludwig Van Beethoven.  I know, Bruce,  you think all of Bill is now gone to dust and he never left the earth.

I Listened To Fewer games Than Ever in 2006
And that's not a cut at Ken Korach or Vince Cotroneo and Ray Fosse.  They're good.  Really good.  We're all lucky to have them.

But I miss Bill's voice and observations and stories and quips.  Maybe next year it will be easier.  A's baseball in 2006 just sounded empty on the radio without him.

~This is a simple game...You throw the ball, you hit the ball, you catch the ball. YOU GOT IT!?!

Please remember to keep voting for him.
I know that it's not something that he would be crazed about promoting himself for the hall, but for goodness sakes it's something that he has long since deserved.  without him being in the hall, i don't know how much the institution really means to me.
"Apparently there's a rule that you have to be old enough to drive yourself to the induction ceremony. So obviously that's not gonna work."

Wasn't it Bill that said
"Give me some assholes that can hit"

I wonder what he'd say about Bonds.

Miss him too...
Strangely, I have his voice so ingrained in my memory (he WAS baseball to me, growing up in the Central Valley) I can hear him say just about anything.... I was even imagining what he was saying while watching the A's sweep the Twins.

Geez, I wish there was some way to clone him!

Keep voting, we need to get him in the HOF!

Tear down Mount Davis!
