Nice sweep, bitches!!!
Let's just say I guy-cried a lot today. I've been waiting for this since I was about 10 years old in '90. As I walked out and partied in the B lot w/ my long-suffering buddies, I gave a shit load of high fives and hugs to strangers saying two things: "Yes" and "Our turn"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I bet some of those hugs went to some of you. There is absolutely no point to this diary, and I don't care right now!!!!!!!!!!
STEAMROLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Me neither
And now I'm drinking, too.
Is there anything better than the weekend basking in the glow of victory, waiting for the ALCS to start?

Is it possible to be so happy it hurts?
Why don't you go down to the basement and find out what Huddy thinks?

Thanks, FSU!
CR: Mike, is there anything worse than turning on a playoff game from Oakland? It's cloudy, the stands are half-empty...it's bad!
MF: You can see what Selig is talking about...
[or words to that effect. The steam in my ears made it hard for me to hear clearly]
And, FYI, there were tons of empty seats at Yankee Stadium in the first few innings yesterday.
I generally don't bother worrying about what East Coast media thinks about Oakland -- they have so little clue, or basis for their opinions, that I just ignore them. But this really pissed me off. I haven't been to an A's game since 1998, but I spent thousands of hours of my life in the old LF bleachers (and a certain amount in RF in the really early 80s), and the A's have always had a dedicated, passionate fan-base, and to hear ignorant people on a soapbox regurgitate canards against Oakland and the A's' fanbase...well, it pissed me off, and I only hope that the Yankee fans out there (inlcuding Francesca, but not Russo, he's a Giants' fan for some bizarre reason) get to grind their teeth to little nubs pondering how their super-team got pasted by a team the Royals swept -- or by us.
