Nice sweep, bitches!!!

Let's just say I guy-cried a lot today. I've been waiting for this since I was about 10 years old in '90. As I walked out and partied in the B lot w/ my long-suffering buddies, I gave a shit load of high fives and hugs to strangers saying two things: "Yes" and "Our turn"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I bet some of those hugs went to some of you. There is absolutely no point to this diary, and I don't care right now!!!!!!!!!!

STEAMROLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Jennifer!
I had to pick up my son from daycare in the top of the 4th, and when I got back in the 6th my DSL was down -- I watched the end of the game in solitary confinement, without AN!

Have you stopped screaming yet?!

Let's hear if for the NRAFs!!!!!!!!!

Me neither
AAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

And now I'm drinking, too.

Is there anything better than the weekend basking in the glow of victory, waiting for the ALCS to start?

I don't think so.
Is to possible so happy it hurts? 'Cause my head hurts right now. It could be because I was squeezing my head in my hands for the last two innings.

For some reason, I can't stop shouting CHAVY!

E.F.C.  WOOHOO!

AN apeshit!

I dunno.

Why don't you go down to the basement and find out what Huddy thinks?

Thanks, FSU!
You should know that the WFAN guys -- their lead team, Mike Francesca and Chris "Mad Dog" Russo, who are actually good -- had so much contempt for A's fans that they didn't even bother arguing for their Oaktown hatred.

CR: Mike, is there anything worse than turning on a playoff game from Oakland?  It's cloudy, the stands are half-empty...it's bad!

MF: You can see what Selig is talking about...

[or words to that effect.  The steam in my ears made it hard for me to hear clearly]

And, FYI, there were tons of empty seats at Yankee Stadium in the first few innings yesterday.

I generally don't bother worrying about what East Coast media thinks about Oakland -- they have so little clue, or basis for their opinions, that I just ignore them.  But this really pissed me off.  I haven't been to an A's game since 1998, but I spent thousands of hours of my life in the old LF bleachers (and a certain amount in RF in the really early 80s), and the A's have always had a dedicated, passionate fan-base, and to hear ignorant people on a soapbox regurgitate canards against Oakland and the A's' fanbase...well, it pissed me off, and I only hope that the Yankee fans out there (inlcuding Francesca, but not Russo, he's a Giants' fan for some bizarre reason) get to grind their teeth to little nubs pondering how their super-team got pasted by a team the Royals swept -- or by us.

It's like when
a TV show is made into a movie.  "Nice win bitches" has been made into a diary.  The title:  "Nice sweep bitches".
Just leave the door open fora a sequel.
