Playoff tickets + Random Observations

First of all, I have 4 extra tickets for Friday's game in Section 106 and 4 tickets for Saturday's game in Section 231. I bought 6 for each game when they went online thinking a bunch of people in my dorm would want to go, but it's too expensive for most people.

Anyway, I'm selling them for exactly what I paid for them, $55 for Friday and $35 for Saturday. It really sucks that tickets are going for $100+ from scalpers due to the reduced capacity, so I'd much rather sell the tickets to real A's fans at face value.

If interested, email me at jrube@stanford.edu

Secondly, and mostly because I'd hate to create a diary solely about selling tickets, a few observations from today's game:

-Zito is really pitching on fumes right now, making his performance all the more admirable. His best fastball of the day was 88 mph, following the Rondell White home run. Most of the day he was topping out at 85 or 86, with a bunch of 84 mph heaters thrown in there. Like the true pro he is, however, Zito was masterful with his offspeed pitches, getting the curve over for strikes and locating his change.

-I thought Ellis looked really nervous at the plate and never really got comfortable up there. That said, he was stellar with the glove as usual.

-If Chavez continues to look like he's never played baseball before at the plate and the Twins start to pitch around Big Frank, do you consider putting Swisher in the 5 spot?

Good points
  1. Zito was awesome today. When he and Kendall realized his fastball sucked, they pretty much shut that pitch down. It got them a game one win.
  2. Yes, but here's my lineup... 3:Chavy, 4. Frank, 5. MB/Swish/JayPay (Whoever matches up best agaisnt the pitcher).

it was a mistake to move Payton
Payton in the number 5 hole was working effectively in August/September, it was a little surprising to see Macha move Chavez back in there.  I'd like to see them flipped because I think Swish is better suited for the 7 spot, he tries way too hard when he's moved into the 2 or 5 spot.

May have to take you up on those tickets
I am driving up Friday for Saturday's game (because they still have not announced the damn time).  I was starting to contemplate leaving even earlier and trying to catch Friday's game.  I'll see if I can work out the logistics and email you in the morning...if you still have the tickets.

If I buy the tickets for Saturday
...and the A's sweep, then what? If the game is necessary I think I know 3 people that would go in with me to buy them. I'll find out ASAP and hit you up to see if you still have them.

If the Saturday game isn't necessary...
...I will of course refund your money (not sure if I'd need the actual ticket back or not).

If you paid credit by phone/web/in person,
then the A's should refund the money automatically. If you paid cash, then yes, you will need the ticket back. (I'd get the ticket back either way, just in case.)

If you pay by credit card at the A's Box Office, you will automatically be refunded; there is no need to return the tickets. If you pay by cash at the A's Box Office, the tickets must be either returned to the Coliseum Box Office or mailed back to Oakland Athletics, c/o Ticket Office, 7000 Coliseum Way, Oakland, CA 94621. Cash sales will be refunded in the form of a check; no cash refunds will be given. Requests for refunds for games not played must be submitted no later than December 4, 2006. No refunds will be given until the A's postseason is over. Refunds take approximately six (6) weeks to be processed. Absolutely no refunds will be given for games played.

The A's recommend that all tickets for unplayed games be returned to the A's via a carrier that can guarantee delivery and offer proof of receipt. The Athletics are not responsible for tickets not received.

If you pay by credit card online or over the phone with Tickets.com, you will automatically be refunded; there is no need to return the tickets. There are no refunds on the order fee and all delivery charges, even if the game is not played. All other fees will be refunded.

No need for refunding money
The buyer can just redeem the tickets from the A's after the season.  So if you're selling at face value, there's no loss to the buyer.

Dude,
They are still on sale through MLB.com.

Potential Scalper alert trying to scam A's fans and resell at higher prices.  I'd be wary of emailing this guy.

Fuck you.
I've been on this site for almost 2 years now.

You probably should check into a regular AN's user history befor you call him a scalper. You're fairly new; capper3's been a part of the site for a long time.

Sorry,
but I just didn't see why he couldn't get tickets like the rest of us.  FYI, I have been on this site for 2.5 years, just have a new screen name.

Maybe...
...because he knows there will be ANers who need to sell tickets so they don't lose money on games they can't attend.  I know AN is the first place I'll go when I need to sell.
