I'm not sure it will work
Not to play spoiler, but it may be too little too late.  All the reports have said that the Fremont deal is all but done.  The A's have even been buying up land around the Fremont site, no longer are negotiating a lease in Oakland past 2010, and it's been reported that the Stadium will be officially announced before Thanksgiving.

The time to keep the A's in Oakland was a year ago.  Would Oakland have had to give up more then Fremont has to keep the A's in Oakland?  Yes, but that's the nature of the beast. The Oakland polititions decided they had better things to attend to then spend time and resources buying up land/relocating buisnesses/and changing the title rights of the land for Lew Wolff so Wolff went to Fremont who decided they didn't have anything better to do.  It may be sad to some people, but I assume they majority of people on this site who live in Oakland voted those people into power.  Democracy can be ironic sometimes...

Its way too late
The A's are pretty much going to Fremont. Its as good as done.

Besides, the Oakland City Council and the Coliseum Board hate the A's, and want to get them out of the city it seems. I don't know, maybe its because they don't like the idea of an Oakland team winning something (content with the Raiders and Warriors fighting for last in their respective sports, while screwing over the JPA).

Yaaa...
You both bring up good points, and all of which i realize, i just thought it was worth while to put up, because you never know....

Gone
Wolff was planning to move the A's from the very start, there was nothing the city of Oakland could do without totally getting used by real estate mogul now A's owner.

This was why he bought the team, he thought he could make a killing in the real estate market as well as gather a bunch of new fans from Silicon Valley.
He is wrong, and what he is going to find is that the A's true base is everywhere east of Oakland-I'm talking Tracy, Modesto, Stockton, Sacramento and even Reno.

He's moving the ballpark 20 minutes away,
and if he is going to lose the majority of his current fan base over that, then that is the fans fault.

I know I'll still be there for the team.
