Give it up for Milton

The Gamer was everything we could have hoped when he came over for Ethier.  Unintimidated, confident, executing, he was the guy who tried to put us on his back and carry us across.  The guy who the opposing teams hate, who gets into the heads of the pitchers.  Of course I'm disappointed--Frank without a hit?--but the Gamer showed that he has the personality and talent to be a real star.  I hope he can stay happy enough and healthy enough to capitalize on this performance.

Thanks for a great season, everyone.  This community made it my favorite baseball season ever.

Peace, Peter

Milton Bradley
is my hero.
Thank you Athletics and AN for a magnificent 2006 to remember ... only 123 days until pitchers and catchers report

Milton Bradley
eats crippled nuns' babies. But I still love him.

Crippled nuns shouldn't be having babies.
If he eats their puppies, then we have a situation.

One puppy, one time,
and that's strictly rumor.

I was stoked when we got Bradley
and Perez for Ethier, and couldn't believe that Colletti in L.A. was willing to give us two quality major leaguers for a hot prospect. Granted, my enthusiasm cooled a bit when Milton was hurt towards the middle of the season and Ethier was tearing it up for the Dodgers... but I'm still stoked on M.B. and I still think Perez has a lot more he can show us next year if Beane keeps him around.
I want M.B. signed for at least a couple years now while other GMs are still leery about his rep.

I wanted Beane to trade
for Bradley when Cleveland wanted to get rid of him. So I've been a Bradley fan for years, and was thrilled when he became an A.

I'm just glad he won y'all over.

We should send MB a thank-you card
Holdin' up this year even with injuries and Ethier tearing it up early in LA, he finished strong, and hope he's on the team next year. If Thomas stays (which I can't imagine a scenario where he leaves) then MB will stay for a fair arbi price. He actually gets along with Loaiza, Hurt, and Swish... not many clubhouses out there would have MB fans especially even hittin coach GP.

Milton Bradley
has been consistently one of the best players on the team (when he's healthy). He's a keeper, IMO.

Milton is a true team player
"One of baseball's toughest men was moved to tears. Sitting at his locker, a towel draped over his head, Milton Bradley had been crying. His eyes were blood-red as he finally turned to face the media. He handled a most difficult interview session the way he handled the American League Championship Series -- intensely, professionally, without fear."

He has never been accepted by a team until now. And as a result, he has never shown this high a level of play and sportsmanship before. The fact that he stayed in after straining his quad and made some great plays proves to me that this guy is the man. He wants to stay in Oakland, keep him in Oakland.

bradley's "rep" hurts his market
which helps us. he wants to stay here. the a's almost certainly want him here. i think it's highly likely he signs a long-term deal this offseason for a pretty decent discount - which won't be quite a "discount" given his injury history. yeah, i doubt milton has been accepted by a team and a fandom as much as he has in oakland.

"Give it up for Milton"?
Give up what, your wallet? Why, because he's black?

The board game/baseball mogul
I said before the playoffs he would be the ALCS MVP.  He certainly was ours, props to Craig Monroe, Mags, Kenny Rogers, and basically the entire Tigers' roster for matching his level of play.  From the temperament perspective, I personally would take 9 Bradleys over 9 Chavezes any day...but that's just more a reflection of my preference for overt displays of intensity, and my fascination w/ controversial/misunderstood people.  He's perhaps my favorite player on the team at this point...wish he could've infused his passion a little more into his teammates for the Tigers' series.
I am no drunkard, I'm a hard-working man.
