WS tickets-check your email

Just got the news.. I have the right to purchase world series tickets.. woohoo.  I wonder how much they are.. this is awesome. Not sure how many others have gotten the good news, they did talk about standing room only and single seats, so who knows. Not even sure if another diary already has this up, but just thought I'd start this one to let everyone share their good news. Lets go A's we can do this.

I missed out.
Had 8 people register for me.  DAMN!

Anyone gonna be able to sell 2 at or near face value to an ANer.  I've been to about 40 home games this year and all playoff games.

THIS REALLY SUCKS!

When did you get the email?
I have not received anything yet.  I am going to be pissed if I miss out.  I had 7 or 8 people register for me.

I'll help you afford it... I just want to go to a WS game and not pay WAY above face.

I didn't make it
BUT.  As people will be able to buy up to four tickets per game, I'm sure there will be people on AN offering up right?  RIGHT?!

Hoping I have not received yet because of...
work email.  Maybe takes longer to get through security.

OK, here is my berometer.  I received the A's Outerwear email at 11:05 AM, PST.

If anyone else received that, can you tell me when you got it?  Thanks.

by easyraider on Oct 11, 2006 12:01 PM PDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I got it on 1 of the four registrations I put in
amusingly, the winning entry was in the name of my colleague who wouldn't go to a ball game if you paid him $100 a minute.

well
I will be buying the 4 tickets that are offered, but I know I will be using 2 for sure. The other 2 im not so sure of, I will let the AN crew know if they are available.

by Rickeyistheman on Oct 11, 2006 12:17 PM PDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I'd be interested in the other 2....
hughcotton@gmail.com.  If you can buy all four I'd pay for 2 at a fair price.

OK, one of my coworkers (Angel fan) got it -
one out of seven people who registered for me.

A little surprised but what the hell, one is all I needed.

Now, LETS GO OAK LAND!!!

tickets
I won, but I know that I'll only be using 2 of the 4 tickets. Perhaps tickets can be swapped amongst fans for other games?

AN apeshit!

by Jennifer on Oct 11, 2006 12:55 PM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

That is exactly how I feel
right now Jennifer.  I hate thinking that way, but I hate to know that I may face the reality that I'm going to have to drop $400/ticket or whatever the scalpers are selling them for.  Some lady in my office won and has no intention of going.  What is she doing? Buying them to sell them at a profit!

Go A's

Let's make it to the WS and I'll drown my sorrows in my beer.  Good problem to have I suppose.  A's in WS and no tickets.  Things could be much worse.

If she gets Upper tank ticket down the line..
I cant imagine her making a huge profit on the 150 face.

Just got my WS ticket e-mail...
Gah.

"Thank you for registering for a chance to purchase tickets for A's World Series games. Unfortunately your entry was not selected for the online World Series sale. If single tickets remain, or any tickets go unclaimed, you will be automatically entered into the 2nd chance World Series Ticket Opportunity. If you are a 2nd chance winner, you will receive an e-mail informing you of what you will need to do."

I agree, A's in the WS and no tickets, things could be much worst.

Just got my
"Sorry, you are a loser" email from the A's. Well, they didn't quite phrase it that way, but that was the jist of it. But it looks like one of my friends made it.

World Series Tix
Woo I got mine, so did a coworker, time to find who wants to go now... I'm looking at game 2, I thought I was already hoping enough for a world series, this just somehow adds that extra oomph.

Another question
A coworker who registered for me got the lucky email.
It states that the address they use for purchase much match the address they used for registration.

Anyone know if they mean the delivery address for the tickets or the credit card address?

I hope the former.  I would prefer her to use my credit card - just hope that is OK.

by easyraider on Oct 11, 2006 3:49 PM PDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

it isnt. i called.
all THREE of the addresses have to be the same. raffle, delivery and credit card.

kinda sucks for people who went around school telling everyone they saw to enter the raffle.. but hey, at least one of my friends won, right?

Another AN'er who will purchase unused WS tix
Hello,

Please include me as another AN'er who did not win the WS ticket lottery.

I will gladly buy 2 unused tickets from another AN'er if they are available.

My e-mail is:   twong_123 (insert AT ampersand) yahoo.com

Thanks.

I won.
I will let people know if I end up selling any of them.

I get to buy WS tix
but I'm pretty sure that I won't be using all 4, so I would be happy to sell them to a fellow ANer.

by suprjo on Oct 11, 2006 4:45 PM PDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

i won! and i might not use all 4!
also, to anyone else that is buying tickets - just know that all of the addresses have to match up: the one used to register for the raffle, the one the tickets are going to be shipped to, AND the billing address of the credit card that is used.

if all three addresses dont match up, the transaction will be cancelled. just FYI.

I get to buy tickets too!!!  I better find a way to get  the money soon. But for now- Wohoo!!!

Question
Does anybody know how the system works? I won an entry and as did my friend since im travelling i would like to go buy tickets with both entries. Any chance i could get tickets to back to back games either 1+2 or 6+7 or is it completley random?

by scottieh14 on Oct 11, 2006 6:52 PM PDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Accessible tickets
I don't suppose anyone here actually entered for accessible tickets by emailing the address? I did, as did four friends, and we haven't gotten ANY email from them, confirmation or rejection. I gave them most of the day and I've tried to call ticket services but I was on hold for half an hour.

If they end up not even emailing those who entered for accessible seats, I am going to do some serious yelling at them tomorrow morning.

Address matchup function
Seems not to be consistent -- a member of my posse was just able to buy tickets even though his billing address wasn't the same as the original registration's address.  Maybe not such a lot of people are biting for those $150 upper deck babies.
