Levi's Landing

from mlb.com

SBC Park's unique right-field configuration -- the long, narrow arcade where fans have craned their necks watching Barry Bonds' historic blasts fly into McCovey Cove -- is about to get a facelift.
The Giants announced an agreement Friday on a five-year partnership with San Francisco-based Levi Strauss & Co. to sponsor the right-field section, which will be renamed Levi's Landing.

The philosophies of the A's and Giants couldn't get any more different even more so now that the Giants are in jean selling business.

isn't the majority owner of the A's a GAP heir?

Seriously?
There are few companies I consider more morally reprehensible, outside of the military industrial complex. And Fox TV.

That sucks.

John Fisher
he put up most of the money to buy the team, but he's sorta in the background. Wolff is really a development guy.

Maybe we should counter
with the left field gap sponsored by GAP.

I can see it now....
"the left feild GAP".....or not.

It's not far-fetched
A few years ago there were two prominent "GAP" signs in the gaps at the 'Stick. I think were placed there about the time the Fisher family invested in the Giants. They divested themselves and got a ton of exposure from the Old Navy signage on the Pac Bell promenade. Since Barry's at the end of his career and the Fisher family no longer has a piece of the Giants, it only makes sense to get a nice deal going with the A's.

It all depends on the demographic they're trying to target. Old Navy is for families and is value-oriented. GAP and Banana Republic are more upmarket.

The question now is: Who now sponsors the Splash Hits sign at AT&T?

Showing my age...
...I'm flashing back on those original 1970's musical "Fall into the Gap" ads, back when Gap was not a clothing brand, but a retailer of (mostly Levi's) apparel.

I think I need a drink... !
Levi's started a downhill path ever since Wally Haas passed away.

Now this is pathetic...
I hope their Red Bricks at Levi's Plaza burns down !

doubt any Levi type clothing marketing in Oakland
A's fans dont fit into the typical target market that Levi and Old Navy are looking for.

I think they want the cell phone, polo shirt & khaki's fan across the bay.

Of course you never know now that Fisher is the owner but I still doubt it.

I'm OFFICIALLY BANNING LEVI's off my shopping list
not like i bought anything from them in the past 5 years.

Their quality is expensive (even though they outsource their labor) and you can't fit more than 3-4 jeans for one load (waste water and not very cost efficient).

And to make matters worse, I have to see their old school building every work day.  Good news is that their company is about to outsource everything and then eventually sell out or go bankrupt...  The curse of supporting the gnats!
