Byrnes in CF
Did nobody else notice this? I'll be much more inclined to watch Diamonbacks games now. How many balls will be hit directly over him and he'll stand there not knowing whats going on, only to make a diving miss for a triple or inside the park hr? Should be good to watch and I hope he has a great season. [editor's note, by niallmack]He was a perfect 1 for 0 in SB attempts on turf last year.

Took me two seconds. Which, incidentally, was as long as it took to read your diary.

What I really want to see is how many times
byrnes in center
I wish byrnes the best but CF is not his best position.

One thing is for sure
I dunno..
Nope ...
Our Oakland Athletics' very own first round pick of 1978 holds that distinction, playing for 12 different teams over his illustrious 22 year career:
- Oakland (78-79)
- NYY (82)
- Toronto (83)
- Seattle (85-87)
- Baltimore (88)
- Los Angeles (89-91)
- Cubs (92-95, 98)
- St. Louis (95-96)
- Cincinnati (96-97)
- Minnesota (98)
- Texas (99)
- Arizona (00-02)
Oops!
I remember
and dont be suprised

in interviews ...
Boring Athletics
No personality?
Normally I'm not one for ad hominem attacks ...
First of all, this is picayune, but there are two redheads on the A's: Kielty and DJ.
Second, Kielty dressed up and being interviewed as Ronald McDonald, or posing in the clubhouse, or mugging with his hair for the camera in the dugout -- "colorless"?
Third, I suppose this is a matter of taste, but I'll take a boring team of competent, quality players over a team filled with Byrneses and Max Patkins any day of the week.
Fourth, yeah, the single most important criterion in assessing a GM is the unintentional comedic entertainment value of the flyball routes taken by his outfielders.
Fifth, as niallmack points out, Bradley's a CMYK riot all by himself.
Sixth, Zito alone is more charismatic, quirky, and "colorful" than half the teams in MLB (even if half of his "colorful" quotient is intentional overstatement by the MSM).
I've always felt less is more
