One last reminder about the program this Friday at the Oakland Museum.
"Facing Baseball's Future: Issues Confronting the Game," the program will feature a discussion of the globalization of baseball, importation of foreign stars, big market vs. small market, potential work stoppage, effectiveness of new drug policy and a variety of other important issues.
Panelists will include Contra
Costa Times sports columnist Neil Hayes, Oakland
Tribune sports columnist Monte Poole, and baseball
author/historian Alan Klein, whose works include
"Growing the Game: The Globalization of Baseball" and
"Sugarball: The American Game, The Dominican Dream."
The event will be held
from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Museum Lecture Hall.
