I swear, 20 minutes before the show started, I reminded myself it was coming on...then I made a phone call to my sister and completely forgot about it. It has to be something like the 5th time this has happened to me this season. I hate Mondays.

Noooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!. The Angels are planning to start Erstad in center field. Which means Kotchman plays everyday at first, and McPherson can DH. Of course, everyone wonders how long Erstad can stay healthy while playing in center, and the Angels would actually prefer to have him stay at first. But not being able to add offense this offseason is forcing them to move him. I still think the Angels will do something. Jeff Weaver is a possibility, and he's certainly better than Hector Carrasco.

Rafael Furcal will have arthroscopic knee surgery tomorrow. He should be ready to play by spring training.

Corey Patterson was traded to the Orioles for two minor leaguers. Mark H. pointed out this great quote from Patterson in yesterday's link dump:

Bobby Kielty was signed to a $1.85 million, one year deal. Bradley, Ellis, Melhuse, Cruz, and Calero are the remaining arbitration-eligible players.

According to Forst, general manager Billy Beane has spoken numerous times to Bradley's agent, Seth Levinson, and is happy with the progress that has been made. Forst said the team is not discussing multiyear contracts with any of its arbitration-eligible players. Also, the A's are still interested in Frank Thomas. And once again, it's mentioned that the A's don't need to trade an outfielder if Thomas is signed.
