Harden out for the season?

The latest news on Rich Harden isn't good. Hopefully  the news on Crosby is better. I couldn't find anything on this on AN so I decided to create a new posting. Sorry if somebody already wrote something on this. Anyhow, here is the link:

I may have been mentally prepared
for this news, but MAN it feels worse and worse every single time I hear/read anything about Rich. It's so incredibly unfair. I hate to whine about luck, but it kind of seems like everything that could go wrong HAS gone wrong.

Alas. I still have faith that this team can pull it off. It will be 10 times harder now without Rich, but it CAN be done.

But man, I'm praying for Crosby to be able to return.

Move Street to Setup
Harden to Close.  Should be back for the ALCS.

:-)

The Cleveland Indians haven't played a team in playoff contention since August 3rd.

I just saw that,
and I'm almost glad I didn't have to be the one to post it. It's not terribly surprising news at this point, but of course I was hoping for truly surprising news of an opposite nature. I really don't trust Kennedy, and it's more bad news in my opinion that Macha plans to stick with him. In the mean time, it was good to see Haren pitch brilliantly today, and our starting rotation is amazingly strong considering how infinitely Harden is missed.

This is OT, but your username prompts me to ask, are you a student at UCI now? I'm only curious because I'm about to transfer there.

Juan Cruz
I would rather see Cruz take Kennedy's spot in the rotation - At least give the guy a chance to start...it's not like Kennedy has lit the world on fire.

Replace Rincon w/ Joe Kennedy as a LOOGY in the bullpen.

Let's Go Oak-Land!

there's a few of us anteaters on AN. I remember posting a few months ago, and someone mentioned they graduated from uci as well.

Kennedy v. Cruz
Cruz seems like an attractive option because his recent AAA numbers suggest he has the potential to be dominant.  Whereas Kennedy has no track record of anything resembling domination.

The thing is, Cruz's dominance was of minor-league hitters.  So I'm okay with Kennedy as the guy, as long as he's on a short leash.

As for Harden--what a bummer!  I hope we can get him back for the postseason; beyond that, I hope he gets to enjoy some injury-free seasons, so he can make some runs at 20 wins, get some Cy Young consideration, enjoy the spotlight that a pitcher with his talent deserves.
