looking for: 1993 A's road hat

IRC this was the only year style hat, the all green with the white A's, then in 94' they changed to the more attractive(IMO) gold A's on the green hat.

So does anyone have a near mint 93' road fitted one they would be willing to sell?  I'm trying to get every hat the Oakland A's had but this seems to be a very hard one to get.

Don't mean to hijack the diary...
but maybe you can answer this question for me. Did the A's ever wear those black jerseys with the dark green lettering with the matching black hat with the dark green A? If so, what year was it, and do you have any additional information? That jersey and color scheme has been in like every baseball video game since the early 2000's and I used to see it at stores, but I don't think I ever saw them wear it on the field during a game. Without mlb extra innings back then I never got to see the A's games out on the east coast, so I was pretty oblivious to the small details like that.

If I remember correctly...
the black jerseys were only used in 2003, to celebrate 100 years of Athletics baseball. I think the black caps with the green A's logo were still used last year with the alternate dark green jerseys, but this year they only have two different caps styles. It's either the standard green one with the gold bill, or just a solid green cap with a gold A's logo. The black caps are still really easy to get, they sell them in the A's official online mlb shop.

Personally I really like the black jerseys and only wish they still made them because I'd get one for sure. [Occasionally you can find one on sale for them on eBay, so check often. There are auctions for XL and XXL black A's jerseys right now.] It's really love/hate though, some people absolutely cannot stand the black jerseys because they're kinda trendy and it throws off the whole light colors at home/gray on the road scheme. Since they weren't traditionally used, there are no real rules set to black jerseys and some teams [Blue Jays, Rockies] use them at home with white pants.

it was 2000
when they wore the black tops.  And there was a 1000 year patch on the arm.  I have one, adult large, and I did get it from Ebay.

There was a website that still sold them (www.sportsk.com/) but the link is dead and I wonder if they went out of business.

I actually liked them and I kind of think it would be cool of they wore them on special occasions from time to time.  The black jersey is a favorite in my collection.

Har-har
I actually have an authentic one, pretty good condition...
Only problem is it's got Giambi's name on the back.
Game over, man!

I meant
"100 year patch" not "1,000 year patch."

We pretty much only wore them
when Huddy was pitching, since the pitcher generally gets to choose the uniform (if alternates are available) and everyone else had the good sense to know that they are ugly ... sorry Melody, it's true - I think it's just your inner Rockies fan causing you to think otherwise ...

I have one
but I wore it a lot....  It is nowhere close to nearmint condition unless sweat stains and rips in the seams are excluded.

I would love to get a few near mint ones.

You're right about it being the only year.
It looks like the previous year they were all green w/gold bill, then in 1993 they were all green with a white A, then in 1994 they changed to the green with yellow.

On the topic of uni's
I think it would be cool if the A's broke out with the black tops, black hats occasionally.  I also liked the yellow 70's jerseys they wore either last year or the year before.

yeah
haven't noticed any 'turn back the clock' uniform days this year as they've had in years past.

maybe because I just catch most of the games on the radio...

There was one time (2000?) I saw a game where they were wearing the OLD old-school unis from the Philly A's, I remember them looking a bit odd but that the manager's outfit (that looked a bit like a zoot suit) really suited Art Howe.

Loved the Black Alt Jerseys and hat
It was a good look to sport every once in a while. Personally, I'd like to see those gold tops back with either "OAKLAND" or "A's" blazed accross the chest.  Also, our plain white and plain grey pants are buggin' me.  What about a stripe down the side in green, like the 82' home unis......
Now THIS is Billy Ball
