Today's Oakland Tribune/Stadium
Has a front page article which discusses the new stadium, the fact that they are back to looking at having it by the Coliseum, a possible news conference next Friday and it takes major quotes from Blez's interview with Mr. Woolff.
Here's the link:

kudos to Blez
But seriously it was a heck of a lot of work for him to not only arrange and conduct the interview, but then do all that transcribing. Which, as you can see, is fairly critical given the need to be totally accurate.
Blez-- you've done well. Not sure how this thing will play out, but my feeling is that Wolff is digging a line in the sand, and let's see if someone on the public side is willing to cross it.

Hire, Not Fire
As for a stadium to be built ANYWHERE within the city of Oakland's boundaries, I refer you to Ignorance De La Fuente's blunt comment:
"I'm prepared to work with the A's and explore possibilities for sites, but I can't make a blanket statement that we are going to put land together for them," he said. "I want to be absolutely clear. It has to be their money. (Putting land together) does not mean it is their money."
In others for those who believe the A's will build a new stadium in Oakland, "Fogettaboutit!"

A's are never moving the SJ
Not gunna happen.
If the A's do move out of Oakland, it won't be to SCC, and it won't be to Southern Alameda County (read: Fremont, near Pacific Commons) because the Gnats can block that too.
Technically, the Gnats could block the Estuary plan as well. I think the Gnats aren't that mean.
If the A's do move, it'll be to 1) about the same place, which IDLF does not want, obviously, or 2) north, closer to the Concord/Sacramento side of the world, and hopefully not 3) to Portland or Vegas.
