My first A's-game
Because I live in the Netherlands I have never been able to see the A's play. Bobby Crosby, Huston Street and Kirk Saarloos have played a tournament here during their college-years but that about as close as I can get to the real deal over here. But that's about to change. I have been able to get some tickets for two games in September in Boston so I'm flying over to witness the hot streak myself. Is anyone else going to these games? I booked the flight already but I'm still looking for a hotel. Does anybody have some tips?

Hotels in Boston
Priceline! But before you use it, read...
This site has great advice on how to make the most of Priceline, inc. lists of hotels that are likely to come up in the Boston area.

I'd try for a 4 star (some of the 3 stars sound not so nice). 4 stars in the airport area seem to go for $65-75 per night. Downtown they cost more like $85 per night. You can spend a bit less if you're willing to risk a less nice hotel.
But whatever you do, be sure to read the FAQ first! FYI, once you figure out the system (esp. "free" rebids"), Medford & South Boston are your free re-bid areas (if you're bidding for a 3 or 4 star hotel). E-mail me if you have questions.
Another site
Back Bay is the closest area to Fenway, and there are several good hotels there and lots of shopping, restaurants and nightlife.

Before you book somewhere check tripadvisor.com.
I'll be at the games in boston
and I recommend not staying in boston, its expensive. stay somewhere just outside of it and take the T and get off at the fenway station. It's a nice 10 minute walk from the station. Also, eat before the game, food is rediculously expensive, and the beer is watered down to have 1/3 the alcohol content. dont know if they do that at other parks, but they do it here.
