Canadian A's fan in Texas - the pictures are in!

A couple of weeks ago I posted my first diary here. It was about my trip from Ottawa, Canada to Arlington, Texas to see the A's play the Texas Rangers.

I want to thank the people who took the time to write some very nice things about it and to those who recommended it. I was happy to see that people liked what I wrote and enjoyed hearing about my experiences.

At long last the pictures from that trip are in and with some help from "Jennifer" (we don't even own a digital camera and I had no idea how to get these pictures uploaded) they are ready for your entertainment. Yes, there are pictures of Huston ... his face that is.

Swisher playing catch. A few minutes later that ball in the air would be mine.

I rolled my ball to Harden and he signed it.

Barry Zito signed too.

Crosby at bat against Kenny Rogers. Luckily I was able to get this picture off without him attacking me.

Postgame "celebration".

Almost forgot that Huston and I got to know each other before the game.

Game 2 batting practice.

Zito and Haren. Barry was telling him about "movement".

Macha just after he gave me the thumbs up.

Eric and I also chatted. Very cool.

A very exciting trip and there's a chance we might be going to Baltimore later this month when the A's are there.

question!

how'd you get the thumbnails?

do you really have to resize the image?
that takes way too much work.

No resizing

No extra work, I think. If the thumbnails are better I can't take any credit for it because it was my first time doing this and was just happy to get them posted for people to look at.

That was one great diary so I'm excited to finally be able to see the pictures you were talking about! And Jennifer is right, you really are a pro at posting pictures, with thumbnails and everything, wow. Thanks for sharing these, I really am jealous that you got to pose with Street and Chavez [*fume* I've been trying to catch Chavez for ages] but it's all good, all good ;)

But yeah, great closeups of Street and Chavez, and I really like how you have pictures of the staidum as well, it's nice to finally be able to see the proportions of the stadium and not have to rely on tape that cuts back and forth. I never realized the offices were set so far back...

I'm so glad you had fun! What did you and Eric talk about?

Sorry it took so long. Street wasn't too hard because he was out both nights I was there. I guess he made a special effort because he was back in Texas. I was surprised there weren't more home state people going for him. I guess Arlington isn't Austin.

I was very lucky with Chavez. I have never seen him do that before. My wife, her grandma and I just got to our seats and I looked over and said to my wife "Is that who I think it is" (her eyesight is way better than mine). She confirmed the Chavvy sighting. I told grandma we had to go but we would be back. She was stuck holding three Coco Cordero figurine boxes. (Any closet Ranger fans want to trade for a Zito?). Again hard to believe that the line-up was so small.

I told Chavvy where I was from and that I stay up late to watch most of the west coast games. He said that must be tough and thanked me for my support. He was very genuine. I also got him to sign the front of my program. With the small line-up there was no rush to move onto the next person so it was relatively a lot more personal than just a quick autograph.

Last year in Toronto my wife asked Barry if he'd had a full breakfast. (This was just after his I forgot to have breakfast low energy start at home).
