Around SBN: Jeff Sullivan's MLB Trade Deadline Primer

Idiots Part Deux

I would love to see the A's ride their personalities deep into the playoffs.  They have one of the greatest mixes of characters I have seen in a while.  Z, Haren, Ronnie Mac, Kendall, Chavy, and the redneck boys Swish and Cupcake.  Remember last years playoffs when such a big deal was made out of how the chemistry of the Sox came into play.  I think the A's have better chemistry than they did.  It sure is going to take something extra to pull it off against those AL Beast teams.

This Crop of Players is Nick-Name-able
Great crew.  Good for MLB.  Positive press.  Do it!

Positive press?
Face it, man. Unless this team wins the World Series, we'll be labeled a failure by the national media, despite the fact that they've had a REMARKABLE year no matter what happens, considering who they traded away.

Beane should be cannonized for his work putting this team together, but the media would rather talk about how a wildly-underachieving Angel team might just squeak by in the end ... cuz they're "gamers."

Makes you kind of ill, doesn't it?

I just don't want this year to end like last year, when the Angels barely beat us with twice the payroll and then were heralded as the best team all along.

They SHOULD be running away with this divison, if you believe the media.

How about "The 2004 Rivercats."

I cant stand the national media
they can stick their 100m payroll loving heads up their collective arses.  Joe Morgan makes me sick.
Soup will toss some love once in a while.  Baseball tonight has such a bias towards the east it is sick.  Screw em.  We need a baseball show based out of the west coast.  We get no love and never will.  I am utterly fed up with ANYTHING to do with the Red Sox.  They have NO pitching anymore.  The Skanks are, well, no need to say anything.  You know what really frustrates me?  The hype over the logjam of NL East teams.  Are you kidding me?  When you have such a great series going on with Oak and LA that is actually living up to the hype WE put on it.  Just look at these great stories sitting the games.  Huston vs Vlad. Big$ vs. Small$.  And the pitching performances have been otherworldly.  Z vs Shrek, Cupcake vs Slingblad.  And you know who got most of the attention last night.  The Skanks vs the Lowly Overpaid Sea Hags.  AAAARRRRGH!

Frustrated in Portland.
