Where do you like Watching the Athletics at ?

I actually got four FREE plaza level tickets + free parking and I ended up not even going.

Why?

Because game time was 1pm Sunday, and I partied til 5am the previous night.

The tickets even included four free meals.

What other reasons besides that?

I think watching baseball on Television gives me more freedom than spending all that effort to go to a game.  Lets face it, watching baseball at the stadium is not like watching football.  In football you get to see the different strategies, autobles, linebackers, and safeties move.

In baseball, all I really ever notice is the 1st base coach tipping pitches to right handed batters, and 3rd base coach tipping it to left handed ones.  The only real other thing I notice is the timing of the pitch from the start of the delivery to the release usually tips off the pitch.  Nothing really too exiting for me.  I know a lot might think otherwise, that's why I made a helpful poll.

If anyone wants to post what would get them to go to the games more like, more Bobblehead giveaways, cheerleaders, or tighter uniforms. Your welcome to chime in. I know my answer would definately be if the game was near my future employment, or home. I would go almost every time.

<sighs>
I have to watch them on gameday, which sucks. But I'd MUCH rather watch baseball live. I adore it.

That does suck.
I'm sorry. :(

Yeah...
but when I can go, Coors is an absolutely GORGEOUS stadium.

Stadium!
It's so much more fun watching baseball live in the coliseum. You get to be around a lot of fellow A's fans cheering them on. I love my seats in LF Bleachers where I get to wave my flag. Section 136, row 1, seat 12 to be exact. :) And I get to talk to the players every game.

Has to be gameday
I have no choice.
No, I do not want to FIRE MACHA NOW, nor do I think Blanton is fat. Now leave me alone.

at the stadium...
but I have passed on going to a game to stay home, bbq with friends and listen to the game.  sometimes that's just more fun.  I actually love listening to the game, so i was tempted to vote for that one...but watching a game is much more memorable than listening to one.

So, what you need
is the A's to build a stadium next to where you live, and, as long as you were not out partying too late, and someone gives you free tickets and free food, you would be willing to take in a game in person.

Businesses buying suites or buying season tickets are the only thing the A's are looking at for their next stadium. Not guys that might show up if it fits in his bar/drinking schedule.

Think a $30,000/season decision for a company at a new stadium vs. your $30/game (or free)decision which you just brought up.

I have no problem with the A's catering towards
Businesses.

As long as Oakland finds a way to increase payroll, I will be extremely satisfied.  The more you think about it, that's where Oakland should mold their new stadium towards.

... and perhaps reserve the left field bleachers for the die hards.

Not for people like me.  I go only once in a while.

I love watching the
games in the Coliseum because even the most boring games [if they exist] can still be the most fun. And it's better than sitting at home where I always never watch the whole game because I have the worst attention span.

i'm torn between at the stadium and anywhere with
friends.

Obviously, I'd love to be at the stadium every game. But I cant afford it. I have to work 40 hrs/wk and I'm a musician so that eats into my evenings too (rehearsals and gigs).

I think I would go more often if the beer was a little cheaper.

ALthough I must say, this year i have been listening to more and more games on radio, Bill King and Ken Korach are a great team and really do the game justice!

None of the above.
I actually get my A's fix from AN.

Heaven help any man who tries to turn the TV to Sportscenter when his 8-months pregnant wife is watching her home improvement channels.

Okay, I sneak some Sportscenter in the mornings, but it's not like they show much.

I admit
Watching the game in my living room is nice.  All I can eat, no sunburn, no lines at the rest room.

BUT, I was at the Sunday game against the Tigers, and when the crowd started chanting Saar-loos Saar-loos I had tingles down my spine.  I never had tingles like that watching the game at home.

Somewhere behind home plate where there's shade after the 4th or 5th... Other than that, on the radio... Third choice, TV.
