Hey kids! (and I know I'll be attacked for saying that, so consider it a compliment ;-) haha)
So I know you guys don't care about my personal life, but I'm settled in at school and haven't been on AN in several days. Which makes me sad. But what makes me even more sad is that I'm near my beloved A's right now and I CAN'T GO TO ANY OF THE GAMES!!! :( Damn being a college student and not having a car! Damn having tons of first week of school things to do. :(
But the other terrible thing is that I don't have a TV (yet...) so I haven't gotten to watch the games either!! I did manage to watch the end of last night's and see the highlights on ESPN, thank god. But I wish I could have seen today's.
So this isn't really something of substance yet, but I wanted to make this an open thread because I miss AN discussion. So... talk away! I have my Zito and Harden bobbleheads sitting here on my desk looking at me, so they're ordering you too... hahaha that made no sense...
Oh yeah, and I did have something of substance to say:
What do you all think of the week-long slump? I never doubted, but I find it interesting the way bandwagoners and baseball "experts" fled at the first sign of struggle. Of course, I have endless faith, so I'm not the best example, but still. I think it's actually to our team's advantage when people doubt us. I mean, we've flown under the raidar for so long - they wrote us off at the beginning of the season and then we came back and took them so much by surprise that the media didn't cover the A's until well into the surge. So is there something about having something to prove that pushes our boys forward?
Just looking for some thoughts.
