Remember being 0-9 with a chance to win a playoff series? Remember going 8-17 last September with a four-game lead in the division? Now, they're 2-7 since taking over first place in 2005.
This team lacks killer instinct, period. This homestand was a disgrace; losing two of three to the Twins, who were 8 games out of the wild card at the time, then getting swept by Baltimore who was below .500, and now losing two of three to a team that had lost 18 in a row before coming to town ... ALL AT HOME, where the A's have the best record in the majors since 1999.
Let's hope they got the crap out of their system, because they just blew a MAJOR chance to take control of their own playoff destiny. Now they have to continue fighting for it, when they could have had it all but wrapped up with a 9-3 homestand.
