Is because my wife is in Taiwan.
Now you may ask why is that? And that is a fair question.
When the A's were slumping in May, we took my wife to the Memorial Day Game. Not because she loves baseball but because there were fireworks.
As usual she grumbled the whole game and even talked herself into someone's box for a few innings. Around the 8th she rematerialized again to await the fireworks show. The A's were down 4 to 1 against Tampa and it looked bleak. But alas the A's awoke in the 8th to score 2 runs. And even more incredible, they scored a run in the 9th to tie it.
And again they topped themselves as they finally won in the 11th. And the rest is history as they went on that incredible streak.
And it continued, till she left last week. At first I didn't think anything about it. But then we kept losing. We couldn't rub her head for good luck.
But there is hope as she returns on Friday Night. Can we get her to go to the game on Saturday. We already have tickets.
And so a jet lagged, baseball challenged, chronalogically gifted, refuge from the 60's be dragged against her will to the A's game.
For the A's sake we will try.
