I didn't think
there was enough room after the official title.  I started doing it but made a judgement call and it was wrong.  Sorry, we all can't be macha.

I said it earlier, and it may sound crazy, but
getting Jay Witasick could be the move of the year, and I am talking in all of MLB.  He has made an already great pen even greater. It's deeper than maybe any team in baseball.  I know the jury is still out, but we may look back on this move in the above sense.

Bullpens
Just look at the Angels: they only have 3 guys they can count on and look what's happening? They're wearing down from overuse (just like the Yanks of last year).

Witasick and Kennedy make us SO much deeper. And we have at least 4 guys we really trust in tight spots:

Street, Duke, Calero, Witasick

With Kennedy and Rincon from the left side.

Everyone should want Larry Davis as their boss...there would never be a timetable on anything.

Props for Saarloos!

Great win!
The A's needed this one.  Gutsy outing by Saarloos and another game breaking homerun by Payton.  This pen is the difference in the multitude of close games after the KC series.  Let's go D-Rays.

I just used up my last diary of the day
to write the post-game wrap.  TAKE THAT AN-DAY.  GO GAME THREADERS!  WE DON'T NEED YOU!  EVERYTHING WAS GREAT WITHOUT YOU!

:P

oh yeah...
so you can use it as an open thread to discuss the game.  Just so we can pretend everything is the same.

Just got off BART
Nice to see you guys were thinking of us. :D

Actually I wasn't with the AN crew, I was in the LF bleachers with the regulars. AN was in the upper bleacher deck I think. I saw a lot of t-shirts there anyway.

Huge crowd, but not as crazed as the Angels series, still it's amazing to see a turnout like that - hat tip to Eck for the all the full seats.

For a minute there in the 9th I think Street was trying too hard to impress his idol. August A's baseball is looking good so far.

Anyone going to the rubber match tomorrow?

THINKING of you guys?
Nah.  It was more like cursing you guys.  ;-)
