Do you remember....

Your first view of the coliseum interior. Can you recall it? Do you remember who was on the field?

I can. It happens to be one of only two images that I can recall from seeing games from the press booth, as a teen, back in the early 70's.

The year was 1973. I walked into the press booth, taking in the camera, the technicans and reporters near by, before carefully making my way to an empty space along the desk top.

Campaneris was at shortstop, his back to me. He had just fielded a grounder, and had thrown it to Gene Tennace at first base.

The A's were my favorite team at that time, and it was quite a thrill to have the perspective that I did, from the press booth.

A lesson learned from having had that kind of access, then losing it forever. Value the moment, whereever you are. You may have that view only once in your life!
