Open Thread: Game 86 - A's at Chicago
Congratulations to the A's for securing Mark Kotsay through 2008.
Anyway, I'm kind of busy today, what with "Chez Nico II: The Extravaganza" and all, so I'm just pasting the preview from the whitesoxnation.com game thread, written by Chicago's excellent and professional broadcast team. See you after the game...
All right Sox, let's get `em today! Boy we sure got robbed last night by a bunch of bad calls and bloopers. But we have Buehrlsey going for us against a right-hander named Zitto I've never heard of, so we sure have the advantage there. As a special treat for the fans, there's a gold glove 3rd baseman playing in this series. And Eric Chavez is here, too. Oh ho ho ho ho! Hey, I think today's the day I'm finally going to get up the nerve to ask Crede out. Wish me luck, and go Soxies!!!
Starting lineups:
Kendall
Kotsay
Crosby
Chavez
Kielty
Byrnes
Swisher
Ginter
Ellis
Podsednik
Iguchi
Thomas
Konerko
Rowand
Dye
Widger
Ozuna
Uribe

Amused
That was a great intro - it made me actually check to see if there is a whitesoxnation.com (nope), and then laugh even harder.
To .500 we go!
I guess I'm glad we signed Mark.
Ginter?
Kots-YAY!
hooray for extensions!
now hopefully kots can get out of this mini slump he's in! the best thing about kots is that he may not be contributing offensively but he's still winning games with his glove.

I was keeping up on the scores, 9 hours ahead, on my dad's blackberry, didn't quite fill the void.
New MAC HELP!
Got my new ImacG5 yesterday. Much to my chagrin, on mlb tv, I cannot get Windows Media Player to go full screen beyond the postage stamp size screen. And it still ran crappy too.
Looking at mac chat rooms and have read about the subject but it still has me baffled.
I am using OSX 10.4.
Any Mac folks in AN who got this thing figured out...drop me an email.
Go A's today!
yuck
clearly z has to be fantastic again today.

P.S Are there any doctors on AN? I need free medical advice. I'll settle for someone who stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
Strike zone, Zeet?
Did anyone just hear Hawk?
He just said, "If you tell me on January 3rd that we would be on our last series with Oakland and still be 28 games over .500, i would have said Give it too me!"
Ok...? Not only is NOT January, Its NOT even the 3rd of the month. ALSO we are 30 games over .500.........WOW.......Hawk was just drinking a LITTLE too much appearantly..........
by JoeCoolMan24 @ Athletics Nation on Jul 9, 2005 4:54 PM PDT reply actions
I don't listen to Hawk
Gosh...
By the way, not many of us here can stand Hawk...but then, I figure that's the way all non-White Sox fans feel. Not really thrilled at our team being called "bad guys."
I'm being very diplomatic... :)

Sure, Kendall.

If Frank Thomas comes back to
re
2 times Zito should have been out of the inning. That 3-2 was a strike.
Thank god
Well.
The downside -- 56 pitches through 3 is pretty ugly. I suppose that's the one good think about the ASG, our bullpen boys may need some rest by the end of this weekend.
Does Zito lead MLB in pitches
