Just heard this during Peter Gammons' regular Friday visit to "Mike and Mike in the Morning" on ESPN Radio.
Gammons said that instead of putting Justin Duchscherer and Bartolo Colon (ANA) on the AL All-Star team, he would've gone with Dan Haren and Mike Timlin (BOS). "That's just my opinion," he said.
I'm thinking it's because he thinks Timlin has been a better reliever than Duchscherer this year, but I was surprised he would have picked Haren over Colon. Of course, that's probably because the A's would need a representative.
I respectfully disagree with Mr. Gammons. Duchscherer and -- ick because he's an Angel -- Colon are the better picks. Both have lower ERAs than their relieving and starting counterparts in Timlin and Haren.
But thanks for the nod for Haren! That should make an A's fan feel even better about the future with this rotation.
