More runs scored than allowed

Yeah this probably does not deserve a journal entry but I'll post it anyways.

After returning from camping I see on the AL West Standings that the A's have now scored 358 Runs while giving up 354. To me this really is a telling stat that the future looks nice for the 2nd half of the season. Obviously if a team scores more runs than it allows good things will happen.

While the playoffs are still somewhat of a long shot, as long as the the Runs Scored > Runs Allowed, the 2nd half of the season should be interesting to say the least.

this is one set of #'s i look at,
RS vs RA. and eventhough the a's are winning more games and the RS has finally overtaken RA, the a's still find themselves at the bottom or near the bottom of every off cat in MLB. their slg % is pitiful and their obp. is creeping up. it has been their pitching/def that has dug them out of this hole...certianly not the Off.

It's all about the W's
As long as they WIN it's doesn't matter how many runs they score, or give up. They may get blown out 15-1, but win the next two games by 1-0 scores. That means they were outscored by 15-3 in the series. Go figure?

I noticed that too
And I was happy to see it. Sure, it doesn't mean everything, but when you consider the deficit just a few weeks ago, it just hits home again what a great month we had in June. It's all good news for now.

You want a few easy wins along the way and the
offense is hitting 5 runs or more with a lot more frequency!

30 games since June 1st;
5.4 runs offense per game

If the average game is 40 at bats;
6.31 runs per game vs lefties
4.83 runs per game vs righties

Byrnes and Kielty K I L L lefties.
Do you think we're better off keeping or trading them?

"the A's can be consistent winners if they add power vs righties to this offense without hurting the defense. Kearns? ...worth the chance & fits the budget"
