Just thought I'd throw out a heads-up that the Vancouver Canadians play the Boise Hawks tonight in the short-season Northwest League, and because the Hawks know the value of the internet, they're streaming video of the game on their website - for free.
The link is right here, and the game starts at 6:15pm pacific time.
Catch up with 1st rounder Travis Buck, and starting pitcher Trey "Phaser" Shields, as the soon-to-be Athletics fight to retain their western division lead - just like it was on ESPN!
Now, why on earth doesn't every minor league team do this?
Free streaming video enables people to really connect with their team, rather than just going out to see them one or two times a season, and encourages a connection between fans and players that is hard to get in minor league ball, when the players move up at the end of each season.
Heck, there's one team in the NWL, the Tri-City Dust Devils, that doesn't even have an audio webcast... now that's slack!
