Nice moment at today's game...

After getting there early and standing in line for a while for dollar dogs...and then finding out that they had run out, my buddy and I decided to go get floats instead.

Star-divide

So, we each bought two cups and headed in to see who would be best to serve us.  Lo and behold, among the 15 or 20 tables serving, there were several tables with the players wives/SO's.  There was no line at the table with Kendall's wife, so we went up to her (there were a couple of other blonde wives there too).  While chatting with her (she told me that my root beer float was the best one she had made all day), Kendall led off the inning with a double.  Then Swisher was up and she commented that it was weird he was hitting in the two hole**.  Just a moment later, he hits a double, scoring Kendall.  Out of nowhere, Swisher's SO comes running up and, letting out a cheer, hi-fives Kendall's wife.

Not the biggest thing ever, but it was a fun moment to see, so I thought I'd share.

**Okay, so this isn't a two-hole reference, but it is a "POO-holes" reference.  Or at least, that's how ESPN suggests saying his last name:

By saying..
"SO" i gather you mean "significant other" - to be politically correct (cuz you coulda said girlfriend/fiance)...does that mean theres a few players with secrets I don't know about?

By the way I'm joking.

SO's...
The truth is that I really don't know who's a wife and who is a girlfriend (except I'm pretty sure Kendall is married) so I just called the SO's.  Most had the typical blond/dyed blonde look.  Hmm, I wonder what Hatteberg's SO looks like?

She's cute and NOT blonde (Hatte's wife, that is!)
So he rocks for having a non-blonde wife (and this is coming from a naturally blonde woman, mind you!)

I figured...
...that out of all the players on the team, Hatteberg would be least likely to have a dyed blonde, stereotypical girlfriend.  I mean, he actually reads books!!!

That's really cute.
I'm glad to hear the players wives/SO's seem to be so friendly. That's cool Swish's girl was so excited. :) I love stories like that.

After seeing some of these wives and girlfriends
I've concluded it'd be a good idea to get really good at baseball really fast.

Yeah
After seeing some of the players I've decided it would be a good idea to get really hot really fast. But you know, the best laid plans...

That's awesome!!
Thanks for sharing the story.  I'm so sad I missed Mug's RB Float day this year.  Last year I got to meet Mrs. Huddy (along with Vida Blue and Carney Lansford).  Mrs. Huddy was by far the most interesting of the bunch...

dark blond vs. light brown
Here's a question that my wife and I often joke around about:  My wife had very light blond hair when she was growing up and then put highlights in it, keeping it light.  Now, she's gone with no highlights for long enough that it's her natural color.  I say it's light brown, she says it's dark blond.

So here are the 2 questions I have:
Is there such thing as dark blond?
With all the stereotypes about blonds (my father-in-law loves blond jokes), what's girls' obsession?

BTW, my sister has basically the same story

The face of a child can say it all, especially the mouth part of the face.

There is no
such thing as "dark blonde", there is "dirty blonde" but thats blonde with streks of brown (I think)

As for women's obsession with blondeness, I think there is abeleif that men prefere blondes. I doubt this is true, I have feeling that other things besides hair color are more important...

No, I do not want to FIRE MACHA NOW, nor do I think Blanton is fat. Now leave me alone.

Bree should be making the best
Floats by now, she was making them for hours at the golf tourney.  Bree is Nick Swishers girl friend.

With a name like Bree...
...I guess you almost HAVE to be a blonde...or a died blonde.  I blame her parents.
