A's Dreams

Okay, I know that things have, perhaps, gone a little too far when the A's are effectively invading my subconscious mind, but whatever.

The other night I had the strangest dream about Chavy coming to my birthday party. Strangely, I couldn't attend my own birthday party (a sleepover, nonetheless), but when I got to my house the next morning, Chavy had left a present on the sleeping bag that he had slept in the night before. (Does that sound dirty?)

For whatever reason, I was really disappointed because he had left me a Seth Etherton hat. Nevermind that it appeared to be signed by the whole team, to Seth, congratulating him on his first merch... I mean, Seth Etherton? I'm sure he's a real nice guy, but... Seth Etherton?

Regardless, while I was watching the game last night on television, and Chavy came up to bat, I just couldn't help thinking what a nice guy he was for coming to my party.

Nutso? Insane? Needing a vacation? All three? Am I alone in weaving these boys of summer into my nocturnal world? ... Wait, does that sound dirty?

I had a horrible nightmare about the A's once...
...but I probably shouldn't post it because it was scary and creepy. All I'll say is someone died. :-(

I dream
about baseball all the time. Sometimes I know the players, but usually its not in a wierd way. It probably has to do with watching them on TV so much, your subconscious just assumes you know them.

I once had a terrible dream once
The A's could hit, pitch, or field, and it lasted for a whole month.

Oh wait, that way May.

Before the season started...
I dreamt that my company bought the A's and they wanted me to play 2nd base because nobody knew if Ellis would come back or not.

I've got the weirdest one
When I got back last night from Harden's gem, my wife told me that my dog Emma(whose energy has always reminded me of Eric Byrnes) had gotten out of our yard in Oakland and was missing.  So I spent the next hour driving around looking for her.  I finally gave up and went to bed around midnight.
So (finally getting to the point) I have this dream where I'm looking for BYRNESIE cause he's gotten away - the dream got weird, and I seem to remember Byrnes in a REVOLUTIONARY WAR outfit at some point but (must've been my alcohol-laced brain) the details are hazy now...
Unfortunately, Emma remains at large (at least we know where Byrnes is).

I think Byrnsie fits well
in a Revolutionary War outfit. Very Dr. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.

Sorry to hear about your dog, but she'll come back. =)

Colorado
Hope she is not heading to Colorado.

Better still, hope you find her.

Emma the dog returned
before Byrnes got a hit in Colorado.  Thanks for the good vibes.

Seth Etherton
Seth Etherton in your subconscious is a compliment to Seth Etherton.  That's for sure.

Seriously
I don't think I've ever spoken a single word about Etherton, or even thought about him at length. Thus my shock and dismay at Chavy's unthoughtfulness, I guess. He should know I would prefer something ala' Scutaro, or Kotsay.

Recently
On game days, I wake up in the morning having already witnessed the first few innings of that days game, at least down to the opponent and field.  Invariably, in the 'game' I was watching (in my dream), we would be doing well offensively (never remember anything about pitching), and I experience a noticeable let down after I realize I was dreaming...  As in, "Damn, those runs don't count?"

I have dreams like that
that the game for the day has already been played. Usually the A's have lost, or are losing--and I wake up thinking "Damn it, its 9-0"

I dream about them all the time
One that comes to mind... I was wandering around an art museum and ran into Jim Mecir. We exchanged pleasantries and then I continued on my way, happily thinking what a nice guy he was. Then, every time I would turn around, there he would be following me everywhere I went. I would catch him lurking and he'd look away quickly, pretending to be engrossed in some painting. This went on for a while until I asked him what his deal was, and he confessed that he was hungry and was hoping I would lend him some money to go to the consessions stand. Then we ate burgers and he promised he would go away.

Another one
I am walking along the sidewalk when I come upon Tejada and Zito. I ask, "Aren't you guys supposed to be at the ballpark?" They say yes, but they can't get there unless I carry them. So I carried Tejada toddler style on my left hip while I balanced Zito on my head. Thankfully, a few minutes later, the team bus showed up and I was off the hook.

I think it's pretty clear
that the A's need you quite well. Either that or you totally have a mommy complex. =)

And the load doesn't weigh me down at all...
They were surprisingly easy to carry.

I sleep with a ton of pillows, and when I woke up from that dream, one pillow was pirched on my left hip while another rested on top of my head. My pillows often become A's when I hit the REM cycle.

Whoa...
that's very David Lynchian.  Now if you got a Marco Scutaro talking to you from your apartment's radiator, watch out now!

Yeah
I dream about the A's all the time too. Unfortunately I can't remember any of them, but most of them were pretty weird. The last one I had involved an ump motioning to Byrnes for doing something illegal in left field, I don't remember what.

Barton
I had a dream last night that I was in the minor leagues riding on a bus and Daric Barton was a teammate.

earlier this week
huston was in my dream. it was pretty random. it was like thanksgiving or something and he came to my family's because my sister met him at school (she's in high school) and knew i'd want to meet him. but when he came, it turned out i already knew him and we were good friends. and there was something to do with flying. it just made me happy haha ;-)

but i always have those dreams where i've seen part of the game already, and it's always such a relief to wake up if we're losing, or vice versa if we're winning.

and i know barry's been in a couple dreams over the years...

"...the plate won't move. The mound is going to feel the same. The strike zone, with slight variations, is going to be right where it has always been." -Huston

I dream about them a lot randomly.
Sometimes it's weird stuff, like I had a dream that I ran into Zito and Harden at a carnival and they were fighting over cotton candy.

The worst was when I had a dream that the A's won the ALCS in seven games and were going to the World Series. I woke up and it took me a half an hour to realize that no, it was just a dream. Then I was very, very sad.

I dreamt about Zito twice
Not sure why. He's not really my favorite or anything.
I have faith.

I don't remember any A's dreams...
but your dreams are HILARIOUS. I love them. Sometimes I'll dream about the outcome of the game or whatever.

I have A's dreams....
A LOT. Actually, Zito shows up in all of my dreams. It can be a picture, autograph, person in the background, or a protagonist in my dream, but he's always there. Not that I'm complaining. ;)

I had a dream that the team came over to my house to get in the pool. They were jumping in and coming out and doing everything Baywatch style. There was even music!! Then, my cousin walks in and is like "OMFG!!! HOT A'S GUYS!!!" and faints. Byrnes picked her up and put her on the couch. Then we all continued to party. It was great.

"I think there's some closet sickos on this team, just waiting to bust out. Even Huston; you can't be a closer and not be a little off." Zito said.

it's possible to have dreams
that don't involve the A's???????? <whoa>

by ChavysGrl3 on Jul 15, 2005 5:14 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

I dream about them a lot
during the season. It's almost like the game just continues after I go to sleep but sometimes they are "normal" non-game dreams and the players are always in them. I'm glad I'm not the only one! Sometimes I feel like I've watched 18+ innings because of my dreams.

I had a dream about Justin Duchscherer
It was really odd. For some reason he needed a place to crash for the night, so my family let him stay in my sister's room. He left [and the folded all the blankets and everything] before I 'woke' up though, so I didn't get an autograph even though I remember feeling dissapointed during the dream about not getting one. Later on I went to the weirdest baseball field ever. The whole stadium consisted of nothing but box suites, so all of the seats were indoors while the field was still open air.

Last night
I dreamed that I ditched my date and went to an A's game instead.
In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.
